Ben & Jerry’s — Restaurant in Memphis

I really wanted to give this place more stars, like it better, etc. But, the ice cream isn't any better than it is from the freezer section of the grocery store. But Ben & Jerry's is really good so, the ice cream was delicious. Also, finding vegan dessert in Memphis was much harder than I had anticipated, so enjoying a sweet treat here was greatly appreciated. I'm so glad Ben & Jerry's started making vegan ice cream (it's so tasty) and that they stock it in this store.

While they have a rather large and nice outside seating area, it is kind of noisy as there is a ton of traffic moving by. The location is also super annoying. It is very near a movie theater and an area of town saturated with big box stores. So there are tons of Beckys & Karens milling about, sampling all the flavours, and having existential crises over sizes, flavours, etc., which causes the line to move slowly in real time and even slower in perceived time. So, sans many vegan dessert options, if I lived in Memphis I'd be here on occasion but not too often. There just isn't much of a reason to chose eating Ben & Jerry's here vs in the...

I needed an ice cream cake. We rather liked Ben & Jerry’s. So I checked out their website, found out about their size options, flavor pairings, decoration choices.

A few days later I decide to order knowing exactly what I need - but only now do I find out - like as the second to last step in their order flow - about them needing 72h notice or lead time. Great, why don’t you start with that key info?

They are aware that folks might need it sooner so encourage you to call the store directly. I do. The staff member is a little annoyed, but can get it done in 24h. I arrive the next day, pick up the cake, and only now find out that there is a rush surcharge waiting for me. Nobody mentioned that before, neither the website nor the sales clerk.

Alright. The cake looked as described, everyone enjoyed the ice cream part, but the whipped cream frosting was weird, like artificial in flavor - not what you would expect from Ben & Jerry. The kids flat out didn’t eat it.

In short, if I need an ice cream cake again, I will make my own, or get anything else, just not another...

We went in and was going to buy an ice cream cake for my son's birthday. He wanted vanilla with a vanilla cookie crust. They said they didn't have one already made but we could special order the cake so we did. We came back 3 days later when it was ready to be picked up. We paid about $60.00. We got home put the cake in the freezer. We were celebrating the next day with our family. When it was time to cut the cake it was just a slab of ice cream with frosting on top. No cookie or crust. We were all disappointed because we spent cose to $60.00 and was expecting a good ice cream cake instead we got a slab of ice cream with frosting on top no cookie crust, nothing. Not only was I disappointed my son, The one having the birthday was really disappointed not to mention all the family and guests. I could have made the very same thing with better flavor. I guess we will not be back anymore. We used to get a cake 3 times a year but...
