Super helpful staff
EDIT: If you're wondering why this establishment has so many positive reviews, it's because they bribe you for it with a 5% discount at checkout with proof of your review. And really, who's going to leave anything less than 5 stars if you have to show the staff. Brilliant marketing, really.
But let's talk about my experience. Being in-store was pleasant enough. Good enough selection. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. But that's where the praise ends.
I bought a toy that was used as a display item (among other things — this was a fairly large transaction) because it was the last item of that model in stock. The staff tested it out for us for about 10 seconds, claiming that it's out of battery and it'll be in good working condition after we fully charge it at home. I've worked retail so I know it's typical for display models to have a discount so I asked for one. I was denied and redirected to leave a review in exchange for 5% off my whole transaction. Keep in mind, this is a discount that is offered for all the unopened items in the store. I was given the usual spiel about no returns/no exchanges and if I had any issues to take it up with manufacturer's warranty.
I get home and charge it for 3 hours (as recommended in the short manual) and, lo and behold, I turn it on and it lasts a grand total of 15 seconds. Great, busted battery. French Quarter took no responsibility and insisted this be handled through warranty, even though it was never a functioning product. Working with them, my partner and I contact the manufacturer. We were told that the store never should have sold an already broken product and that the proper course of action is for French Quarter to order the replacement themselves. We passed this message along to the French Quarter. No words can convey how frustrating that interaction was; they were about as helpful as a robot programmed only to repeat one phrase. Yep, you guessed it, "no returns or exchanges." To state concisely: the promised goods upon funds rendered was not satisfied. They wouldn't even refund the broken product, returns and exchanges aside. They stated that "no refunds" is implied by "no returns" and refused to help rectify the situation.
TLDR: They only care about you until you hand over your money. After that you're on your own. They sold me a DEFUNCT DISPLAY-MODEL TOY FOR FULL PRICE. And no, the measly 5% doesn't count when the same discount is offered for unopened items. STAY AWAY.
P. S. You're better off getting your stuff online. That same model I bought was $25 cheaper at the manufacturer's website with free ground shipping. Don't be like me. Do your...
Read moreFirst time here. There's deff a solid selection, but the prices seemed wicked steep. Something I could get at Spencer's gifts for $30 was $65 here. I picked out two items for my girlfriend and was standing in line. A guy, I kmagine the owner said lemme throw in some batteries and took the items up towards the front. When I was up at the register, the other young guy said there was nothing up there for me. He talked to the ?owner? And the owner had kept them with him as if I was about to steal them. I did not like that at all. The guys made me feel extremely uncomfortable and not welcomed whatsoever. I might be back and try again, but I haven't decided. I also never got those batteries either. TLTR: Good selection, make you feel like your stealing, steeo prices, poor...
Read moreFirst time here and never again. We walked in and were greeted as expected. But then as soon as my wife and I began walking through the store and began looking at their items, we were being followed around the store. Made us feel a little uncomfortable. It was our first time here and wanted to see what the store had. Made us feel like unwanted customers. But I guess it doesn't surprise me coming here and reading some of the reviews. Now I see we're not the only ones. We didn't buy anything and didn't feel like spending a single dime. If you want to feel uncomfortable and like being followed, then this is the right place for you! I guess we'll stick to Lotions and Lace. A place where we feel welcomed and not...
