This store has groceries, as well as a meat department that sells meats, there is also a produce section with vegetables and fruit. The dairy section has a large variety of yogurt, milk and eggs. Eggs are doggone expensive... the best part is the liquor department and they have liquor and lots of beer. I don't drink alcohol but I'm sure people looking for alcohol would find enough to drink. Finally, there are checkstands where they will take your money for many of the stuff that people would normally buy. Stater Brothers is a supermarket where oddly enough it is part of a chain, where people could go and purchase stuff. The store doesn't offer many things on discount since prices always change and in general, people spend more than average due to the way all stores perform price changes including the high cost on eggs. Eggs are delicious and often used a base for many recipes, and with the high cost of eggs at this store, I had to take the ingredients that I had purchased and placed back on the shelves. Off course, not in the right section, but ended up going to Coco's and just buying a dinner and a pie instead of preparing a meal for myself. If eggs would have cost less, then I would have made myself a delicious meal and an apple pie. Anyway, will try to grow my own vegetables and fruit so that I don't have to visit a staters. Well, since I cant make my own toilet paper, paper towels, soap and other toiletry, then, that leaves me with no other choice but to visit staters. Mayb, from my way from work, I could stop by costco, and perform a price comparison, thing is, costco may not have all the brands that I would otherwise buy from staters. Perhaps staters would be a better deal since its only three minutes away and costco is 24 minutes away. But, I do like the free samples and staters do not offer free samples. Maybe, and just maybe... if, staters offered free sample of tequila, vodka or gin, then ! Could learn to drink and join the other people that I see sipping from the isles at staters and the checkers at the checkout stands... drinks...
Read moreThis store is absolute trash... I come in at 8:30AM on a Wednesday morning to get 20 pounds of on sale Boneless chicken. First thing the Man at the meat counter says is I needed to call in before hand if I want a large order. (Excuse me? I have never had to call my butcher to have meat ready. Thats your job) He then proceeds to tell me they only have 6 pounds. And that 2 other people bought 10 pounds before I got there. So you are telling me for the entire community you only ordered 26 pounds of chicken. (That they just put on sale in their flyer) I come here at least once a week and buy 20-40 pounds of meat. (Never had an issue) So that's complete BS. Then I speak with Kim the manager. Who gives me the same excuse. So I call corporate and they tell me they ordered less on purpose because they are under construction. (Now I get the real story, which they could have just said in the first place instead of feeding me BS and trying to act like it's my fault I didn't call in my grocery order a day in advance.) I would have been cool with some simple accountability and explaination of construction. But for them to act like it's my fault somehow that they didn't order enough meat. (again, we are talking 26 pounds for an entire community, that's ridiculous!) Idk who is in charge of your meat department and order quantity. But I'd fire him! I will not be shopping here ever again. Vons is literally right next door. Ill be giving them all of my business...
Read moreWas there this morning 12-1-23, the checker was rude when i explained she had charged me $3.99 a pound instead of $$2.49 a pound for mixed nuts from produce. She said thats what it rings up, i said no, theres a sign for $2.49. She called produce and was told ,yes $2.49 a pound. Yet again she rung them up at $3.99. A differance of $30. I said no call manager, she was a hispanic woman, also was rude and said nothing to me except, thats what they ring up for. I explained it all again and offered to bring sign in front of nuts. Again not a word except, thats what they ring up! I said really, thats your problem you input that higher price in computer. Finally after awhile of me Trying to make them both understand, she said lets move to checkstand 1. There she again charged me $3.99 a pound!! What!!! Corporate should retrain them, teach them to be respectful, teach them to speak, teach them how to deal with customers , and after all this i paid and not even a thank you! Customer service has gone down the drain, if you hate your job, then train to do...
