Have cruised with Royal three times. Previously had great experiences. Great service, friendly staff, dining and drink packages well worth it. Planned an Alaskan cruise with them for two years, looked forward it to it and expected the same great experience. Did not get it. Twice as expensive, service was terrible. Staff ignored us and our cabin steward made us feel like we were in his way. The drink package cost us $1000 for a week because you can’t have just one person in a cabin purchase it and drinks were weak-we watched them do 1 oz instead of 1.5 oz shots in drinks. You pay for main dining room for the whole cruise but can only go if you have formal wear, all white wear and then “your best attire” which is semi formal. So for an Alaskan cruise you need three formal outfits to attend the main dining room which you already paid for. Short staffed everywhere and long wait lines for the simplest things. There were three staff who were wonderful who we tipped well as they deserved it. Will NEVER choose...
Read moreI had a frustrating experience with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines booking. My booking got cancelled by the cruise line automatically after not meeting the final payment due date. Within the 48 hours payment deadline grace period, there is no warning emails or phone calls for the upcoming cancellation. The reason for not paying is because the Royal Caribbean Cruise credit card didn't work for the final payment. I was assuming there should be an auto charge for final payment to the same cruise line credit card, which I also used for deposits. I called the customer service, they told me my booking was cancelled and already sold out. Need to either upgrade to the balcony room or book additional room in order to fit 6 of us total with current prices and availability. If I do not book during the phone call, I could lose my $1500 deposits. So I ended up paying an additional $3000 for my booking for two rooms, including the upgrade to a balcony room to fit the needs of having two kids staying with parents...
Read moreHad an ok experience on the cruise itself. Went on Navigator of the Seas out of Long Beach on July 1st. Service and food was mediocre, perhaps it’s just struggles of the post Covid industry. I also made a large purchase in the Regalia jewelry store. I was charged twice and keep getting the run-around from royal Caribbean. I was told it’s a 3rd party vendor on their ship—-so essentially royal Caribbean isn’t responsible, it’s the vendor they allow to sell products on their ship. Just lack of accountability. I’ll be sticking with Virgin Cruise lines from here on out, just expected a higher level of customer service...
