Five Below — Local services in Mentor

They are so racist I understand you want prevent theft but singling out melanated skin people over the others is unacceptable. The First visit the clerk checked me out the counter because self check out “wasn’t open” but it’s crazy how as soon as a yt customer walked up she was immediately directed to self check out. The second visit really confirmed it because as I was going to self check this time I saw a yt lady at self check out and I went next to her and before I could scan my items the worker ran from behind the counter and tried to scan my items for me at self check out but I stopped her and continued to scan my own stuff but she stood next to me the whole time I was scanning my items and made me feel very uncomfortable but beside me the yt lady was stealing and the worker had to stop watching me and had to scan all the stuff the lady didn’t scan. And if she wasn’t watching me she would’ve saw that she was just throwing items in the bag. And I ask them why do I have to be watch and not the others and she said they manager...

Was not greeted when I walked into the store either times. The first time I was looking for a phone case and didn’t see any I liked so I left and went next door. I remember I needed something else and went in and grabbed the one thing and a quick bag of chips. While I was waiting in like a family and another lady were checking themselves out when I went to check out the worker came up to me and took my stuff which wasn’t an issue because usually at the Mayfield location an employee checks you out but the lady who went behind me after I was finished had the option to ring her self out . Yes all of these other customers were white and yes I am black. If you’re going to stick to the policy of employees ringing customers out that’s okay but stick to it with everyone. I am an educator and would never steal and definitely not risk my career for a 5 dollar...

I never had a bad experience at a 5 below before like I experienced today I went into five below around 12:30 -12:45 the lady that was helping check people out was so rude and nasty she came off every racist blowing her breath and raising her voice I will be calling corporate and reporting this location to the BBB she didn’t have no name tag on but she was a white lady with brown hair with her hair in a pony tail she seem to be the only worker there for today so they should know who was working today I will not be at this location and for my fellow African American people I would not recommend this location to spend ur money at especially if you get treated like how I was today totally unacceptable and should not be working for the public if you can’t accept...
