I have shopped at Aldi for years so I was very disappointed when I went in and saw both cashiers wearing plastic gloves as they rang up the customers items. I asked the female cashier to change her gloves before she started to ring up my order and she obliged and began to ask me how my day was going. I told her it was fine and that it would be better if she just disinfected her hands in between customers. (I mentioned this to say that people always want to portray Black women as being angry, with phony reverse psychology). She commented that she was allergic to sanitizer but that she did sanitize her gloves. I questioned that and as is typical a Caucasian customer came by and whispered something to her. I believe he overheard our conversation but he didnāt look like he knew much about healthcare and I on the other hand am a nurse who just came back off a travel assignment. I told the cashier that I had seen the worst of Covid. Patients are literally dying at an astronomical rate. The point is that this is not recommended by the CDC, to wear gloves except to sanitize surfaces but they definitely donāt recommend, and it is specifically noted, to sanitize gloves nor to use them routinely for purposes such as this. People are dying from Covid and until you are coding a patient that is unresponsive, the least you can do is practice safe hygiene without ignorance. And one more thing. Your new bags are small and the handles break easily. Your bags are becoming flimsier with each update. Otherwise I love your store but I seriously will rethink going back to...

That's an old saying in my family. Or it will be when we pass it down to my children and then to their children. It's a promise we need to live by. But every now and then I break it.
I like Aldi. Good prices, decent selection. They're my first stop before I go to a larger grocery store to pick up the things Aldi doesn't have -- as well as produce. Cereal, fruit bars, milk, eggs, and cheese are our primary purchases from the store, but every now and then we grab dinner hummus or a pizza. The pizza is better than it has any right to be.
Then there's the seasonal aisle. You find random things there that are fun to try or may be major brand items put on sale. It's always worth it to go down every aisle at Aldi.
Except for the produce, but you're pretty much forced into that anyway. My family's problem with the produce is that we can never eat it fast enough before it moves to its next stage of life. Mold on strawberries, wrinkling grapes, or even sprouting potatoes. Could we eat it faster? Well, if we could eat it the day before purchase, then sure. As it stands, this is the most disappointing part of Aldi. Good produce prices, but there's still a cost.
Seriously, I bought a 2 pound bag of potatoes and they were sprouting the next day. They were still usable when peeled and cooked, but we wanted to use some for baked potatoes. It was...

IT'S CHEAP! (anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars cheaper than Meijer) IT MAKES DECISION MAKING REALLY EASY! (because you have no brand choices) THEY'RE SUPER FAST! (because their cashiers are magic)
Seriously, do I wanna spend an hour wandering around the giant Meijer up the road looking for where they've hidden the potato chips this week? Or do I want to walk into Aldi and walk out ten minutes later with all my grocery shopping done for the week?
Sure, Aldi doesn't have the selection of a larger grocery store. No, you won't get your favorite brand. But you'll save soooo much money and time. I can't get enough.
(I'm sure everybody mentions these tips, but just in case: carts cost a quarter. If you take your cart back up and reattach it, you can get your quarter back. Almost everything is available in Aldi brand only, although many things now have an organic option that's a bit pricier. A few random things are available in another brand too, like pop tarts for some reason. The center aisle is all their "specialty" stuff and it changes every couple weeks. Don't get scared by the giant lines; the cashiers are...
