Thai Princess — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

I really expected more from Thai Princess after reading the reviews, but overall was unimpressed. Things were "fine" overall but I don't think we will ever go back, especially given how much we paid for what we received.

Food: the appetizers we got, app sampler (crab rangoon, shrimp roll, spring roll, chicken dumpling) and fresh rolls, were decent enough. The paired sauces were unique in flavor, very different than the typical sweet orange, soy, and peanut sauce you would experience elsewhere. The fresh rolls were cut like sushi, but pieced together were maybe the size of two fresh rolls you would get anywhere else. For the price, I would avoid.

The entrees we got came out at wildly different times, which is consistent with other reviews. The presentation on them was 5/5, but the flavor was almost nonexistent. They might be lightly seasoned, but with zero salt. Every other Thai restaurant dish I've had has been properly seasoned, but these were not, which gave a very lackluster taste experience.

Service: Fine. We had to practically wave down the one person working the floor anytime we needed them. When I asked for boxes (including a container for soup) I was given an odd assortment of containers that did not match the amounts of things we were taking.

Atmosphere: It was warm inside, which was not ideal with it being warm and humid outdoors. I would expect it to be at least slightly cooler than outside, but it was not. The inside was well kept and the decor was lovely.

We ordered two appetizers, four entrees, and two drinks, and paid around $95 before tip, which is about what you would pay elsewhere. It's unfortunate the food isn't as delicious as it is...

Sorry, long post! Summary: bad service, didn’t bring my food, complained, then when they did, it was wrong. Still had to pay for my meal. Lost a customer.

I normally do not post negative reviews and try to be understanding and fair of restaurants. I’ve been hearing great things about Thai Princess so we took my daughter out when she was in town. First we sat for a while before our waiter took our order, no big deal, but then he took the order of the tables next to us even though we were there about 10 minutes before. Ok, no big deal- he came to us right after. The tables on both sides of us got their food (both arrived after us), then my husband’s food came, several minutes later my daughter’s dish came. We assumed my dish would be coming, so they didn’t start eating, wanting to wait until mine came. It didn’t. I made them eat before it got cold. The waiter never came over, ever. I turned to face where workers were to try to get someone’s attention. Finally, a woman came and asked if everything was ok. At this point, my family was done eating. I informed her my food never came. Unfortunately, when they brought my food it was spicy. I had asked for no spice (I love spice, but have severe GERD and can’t eat it in the evening). So I ate the vegetables. The manager apologized and brought out sticky rice with mango which was yummy. The very least they could have done was to comp my meal. Are a bowl of cereal when I got home.

UPDATE* 07/07/25 whatever has changed here it is now awful in comparison to all of my past visits. Quality is terrible. Ordered a lunch special and it was done in 5 minutes....I figured out why after opening it. Clearly had been pre made and was missing all the usual garnishes and was a clump of dried Thai noodles??? Even the shrimp that is always beautiful was chopped and nasty. Called to let them know and they didn't care at all. The girl on the phone was too busy laughing to even take my call seriously. $40.00 later I'll go down the road to somewhere else next time. Thanks for the awesome customer service! The older lady who is always working is not there so my suspicion is the children are playing restaurant now 👍🏼

Not all Thai places are the same! This place is by far the best I've had for many miles around here! Every time I visit it's the exact same quality and I crave this stuff now! Everyone is working hard when you go in and it's clean and beautifully decorated. Every item I've ever had has been phenomenal. I happily go out of my way just to visit this...
