Visited this cafe for take out. Ordered an egg, cheese and zucchini pide, cheese borek and chocolate eclair.
The owners were exceptional in their service and treated us to some Turkish tea while we waited.
The interior is quirky, with Turkish products, and unique jewelry for sale. Cant wait to dine in once the pandemic is over!!
The food was very satisfying and delicious. The pide had the perfect pillowy texture. Egg, cheese and zucchini filling were seasoned appropriately without being overpowering. My only complaint about the pide would be the price for the size of the pie. It easily can feed one, but you’ll be hungry if you decide to share. Cant wait to try the Sujuk pide!
The cheese borek had a similar cheese filling to the pide. Rewarmed in the oven just before consuming. Buttery, flaky goodness with a slightly spicy filling.
The chocolate eclair was a last minute add on, and I’m so happy I did. It was stuffed with custard, and when I say stuffed, edge to edge with custard with no air! Delightful to say in the least.
Don’t overthink, order now! I know I definitely will revisit to try other items...
Read moreI have a child who loves sloths so stumbled upon this gem. We drove 30 minutes to visit this cafe. We were the only ones in there and the owner was just so unfriendly to my kids. It was disheartening experience. They are young in elementary school and we had a random day off at school so we decided to visit Social sloth. We tried to ask questions about the culture and the owner was not very happy that my kids were curious about the Turkish culture. We also ordered the breakfast platter for $16 (one piece of toast for 2-3 people, some jam, piece of feta, 1 sliced Roma tomato, half a sliced English cucumber, 8-10 olives with pits, 1 tablespoon of tomato/walnut tapenade) When we asked if this was a typical breakfast in Turkey, the owner looked confused and quickly said “sometimes” while walking away. Also, the owner suggested a hot chocolate as a drink for my kids, and it was good but not $6 per child good, especially when couldn’t even finish their 2 drinks. I am happy to pay between $2-$3 for a smaller hot chocolate for kids. Overall, food is good, service is horrible and friendliness is...
