I won a pair of leggings to this place and I am a bigger girl with some junk in my trunk (won the pants at the gym so working on it) but I specifically told the gals that were at the gym that I don't wear leggings because they dont fit around my butt. She said and I quote "Dont worry about it. We make leggings for real girls" I was like cool that's awesome. So imagine my surprise when I went in to exchange them (they had only brought a sample with them to the gym) and the entire staff is insanely fit wearing super tight leggings and sports bras or mid riff shirts. I got the largest size pair that they had and it came up mid thigh. Then I asked if they carried more sizes online because the girl at the actual store told me that most people had to go down a size in the particular brand I was getting and she told me an XL is the largest size they carry. Um excuse me that's not catering to the "real women". I haven't been an XL in pants for over 10 years and even if I do lose more weight that's just not feasible for my body type. Read moreI had a wonderful experience yesterday at the Athleta store with one of the staff (Sharon - If I’m remembering her name properly). Not only was it clear that she loves her job and the company she works for - but she made my shopping experience a delight. As a busy executive, I rarely shop in-person and try clothes on - less than 1x per every few years.
Sharon was helpful and inspiring - making suggestions on items that would fit my body and match my aesthetic. Also, she spent extra time setting me up with the reward program and a credit card (which I never say “yes” to) to get me discounts.
She also shared with me about Athleta’s B-Corp certification and commitments to use business to make the world a better place.

I explained my situation and she was not at all condescending.Very understanding.I was having issues with a previous purchased “bra”.I wish I had remembered her name along with the young women in the fitting room.It was a very personal experience.It was as if I was the only customer in the store.
