As i have done in my other reviews. I prefer to give praise when it's due before I aur out my grievances. The people at the front desk very kind. My kid was in distress and some ladies I want to say they were nurses but couldn't be sure. They were wearing colorful shirts. They stopped and engaged with him offering not one but two stuffed animals. Granted he was amused for a little bit and began to want to explore more of the grounds, he appreciated it a lot and I did as well. The facility is clean and the different statues are a nice edition. Interesting layout. Another person at the front desk spoke to my child and offered him a sticker. My kid is hard to please but she attempted to engage and again I appreciate it. Check in process with admitting was to the point and quick. She was kind and gave great customer service. Now to the BAD. First let me preface and say I was at the front desk at 11am and still had to go thru admitting as it was my first appt. I was to be there much earlier but traffic conditions ruined that. Nevertheless I was there. After showing up tha e kind lady crystal at admitting showed us the way to the rehab department for an evaluation. Walked in nice waiting room. That's where the niceness stops. I am standing by the window. I see 3 individuals on the other side. One of which is sitting to the right side of me. I calmly stand there. The young woman by my right looks at me and looks away. I thought maybe she is finishing up stood there a bit longer. Then just sat down as my child ran around and at times tapped on the window. 20 minutes have gone by no one, NO one, NO ONE came to the window. I'm sitting to myself keeping calm because the level of disrespect is making me hot. A lady with her child walks in and asks how to exit as she is done with her session. Did they open the window for her. Of course. Then they immediately close the window. My kid again goes to the window. No acknowledgement. I then get up and witness the young woman on her cell phone. The one who saw me and didn't give one iota of care to simply ask how can I help you, are you in need of something, ma'am you have missed your appt. We would need to reschedule, my name is ......, how is your day....do you have the right location. NOTHING. so to me those ladies don't give a damn about people because I can understand an inadvertent I didn't see you. I apologize I got stuck on some thing. Nope no acknowledgement by initially three people. I do want to end th is and say that the 8 to 10 people I encountered who acknowledged and said hello etc were fantastic. It's not that Carson employees bad people, however ignoring someone speaks louder than if they were rude and spoke up. They showed my time was not even valuable. They showed that I wasn't even worthy I was invisible. They showed my child's well being meant not a damn to them. So am I upset, yup. Would I bring my child to carton medical for other services, Definitely. The ER doctors are kind, nurses are great. I just know not to mess with their rehab department. Not because I believe there ability is not of par because I could never diminish the schooling etc they have done plus I didn't see the therapist. But if that what you are presenting that I don't give a ..... attitude to a person why would I subject myself to that. Bad service, bad vibes, there's too many other places to get the same service with a smile. Not to hard to say hello and treat everyone like you want to be treated. I know, I know I'm asking...

Details:
I am sending a formal complaint to the hospital.
My pediatrician suggested trip to ER due to raised fontanelle.
My six month old did not exhibit symptoms of meningitis.
The ER doctor was rude, extremely aggressive, threatening, and confrontational.
His FIRST RECOURSE was to perform a spinal tap. Extremely severe, invasive, and one of the most painful procedures possible.
According to the latest scientific research, pain is actually far more intense for babies. I mentioned this to the surgeon. He denied it. He said it was painful for adults, but no problem for babies.
I asked the doctor if I could have five minutes to discuss with my husband. He told me No. I had to decide on the spot, and if I said no, he would instantly kick my baby out of the hospital.
He said, āLet me tell you something. Iām only 39 years old, and Iāve already done over 1,000 spinal taps.ā (Apparently, lumbar punctures are his hobby, even when theyāre completely unprecedented, as was true in the case of my child.)
I was concerned that the doctor was making a grave mistake. I called my pediatrician before giving my consent.
My pediatrician was shocked. āA spinal tap is extremely invasive. He should have suggested bloodwork first. Determine if its viral or bacterial. A urine test. Even imaging. Thereās no reason to jump straight to a spinal tap.ā
I requested bloodwork. It showed that it was viral. Therefore, a spinal tap would accomplish nothing, as per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Even in light of this, the doctor STILL wanted to perform a spinal tap!
Because I refused to give consent for a spinal tap without reasonable cause, my husband had to interview with Child Protective Services just to be allowed to leave.
When he walked outside, our car had been stolen from the hospital parking lot.
Staff was rough. Had to prick my baby multiple times just to get his vein. He was screaming. Never before had I heard him scream the way he did in there. It broke my heart. He came out with bruises and an entire arm cast. He was traumatized. He almost had the most painful procedure imaginable, for no plausible reason, other than a sadistic and self righteous ER doctor.
I cry when I think of the pain and psychological trauma of hundreds of infants and small children, who didnāt need spinal taps, who had no reason for spinal taps, but were forced to needlessly endure them because of a sadistic and disgusting doctor. I cry for the pain of the parents, who feel the pain of their children, who witness their broken spirits.
I believe in karma.
I believe in justice.
I hope that the ER doctor of Cardon Childrenās Medical Center receives over 1,000 spinal taps.
This doctor was more concerned with how many lumbar punctures he had performed than how justified they were.
If you are considering this hospital, I urge you to protect your child from unnecessary procedures and take him/her to...

Seriously amazing all the way from front desk, his medical assistant, nurses, even his schedulers are amazing. I truly hope Banner knows how valuable Dr. Vengunta and his entire staff at 1432 S Dobson are!
My son has pectus excavatum, we was diagnosed about 3 years ago but did not have many issues or side affects at that timeā¦. fast forward, over the past year or so my son has been getting fainting spells, shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain etc so I took him to his primary doctor and he told us that he needs to get into a specialist right away so our primary doctor made a referral and the referee specialist told us that he didnāt handle that type of issue so we were given another referralā¦well long story short, 5 referrals later, no doctor would take my son, either because they didnāt handle that type of severity or they didnāt take our insuranceā¦.
So as I watched my son struggle, feeling helpless and scared for my son, I got on the phone myself and started calling every doctor I could find, I was on my 6th or 7th call in and an Angel answered the phone, for the life of me I cant remember her name, I believe it is Vanessa or Veronica but she works at Dr Venguntaās front desk, anyways I began to tell her about my son and she asked me my sons age, I told her he just turned 18 about 2 weeks ago⦠she told me āwe are pediatricsā My heart sunk and I just broke out into tears, I began pleading with her to help me find a doctor that can help my son. Now when I tell you she has a heart of gold, I truly mean that! she is just an Angel, she was so compassionate, so sweet and she said to me, I will help you find a doctor, she asked for my number and told me she was going to speak with Dr Vengunta, she said that he is an amazing person and that she would see if the doctor would see my son but she also said that if he couldnāt that sheād help me find one that will take him.
She called me back within 2 hours and said Dr Vengunta will see your son:-) every weight on my heart and shoulders was liftedā¦
The day of his first appointment with Dr Vengunta every single person in that office was so friendly, efficient, welcoming and OMG Dr Vengunta spent like seriously an hour with us, he explained every detail, why my son is having his difficulties, the risks, he answered all our questions AND will be doing my sonās surgery
