Dear Mesa Arizona ,

I hope this letter finds you well. Today, I visited Mesa's Rosegarden, and I must say, it was an incredibly sad experience. The once beautiful roses that adorned the garden have withered away, leaving a heartbreaking sight. I couldn't fathom why someone would let such a lovely place fall into despair.

As I walked through the garden, the overwhelming feeling of gloom surrounded me. The dead roses were a stark reminder of the impermanence of life, and it saddened me to witness their demise. It truly was the worst condition I've ever seen a rose garden in my lifetime.

To make matters worse, the scorching heat, with temperatures reaching 117°, only added to the horror of the situation. It was a literal nightmare to see such beauty succumb to such extreme conditions.

I feel compelled to reach out to the authorities or anyone responsible for the maintenance of the Rosegarden to express my concerns and hope for restoration. Such a remarkable place deserves better care, and I believe it could once again be a source of joy and solace for many.

I'm sending you this letter to share my feelings about the state of the Rosegarden, hoping that together, we can bring attention to this issue and work towards preserving its beauty for generations to...

Some ppl were Racist!!! & NPC Covid bots with no common sense! called the cops on me like 5 times asking me for Identification and School ID. when I am enrolled there!! I worked two jobs and didn't have a vehicle so I would arrive to early or be there to late to take the bus. Occasionally would fall asleep there! Harmlessly!! they made a big deal out of it!! This is why GOD sees ALL! They do have very nice individuals Everyone in the library, Richard in the market deserves to be the GM he is Amazing! He is a Saint. The market free food free clothes you can play games is Awesome. no housing benefits just many extra rooms with computers just chilling. After all this they denied me Grants because of having a 1.8 GPA frm 10 years ago after I withdrew classes I appealed and was denied. After stumbling on a reference to the Rose Garden online, today we visited for the first time. Parking was incredibly easy, as MCC is on winter break currently. The rose garden was nearly empty, allowing us the privacy to stroll and smell the roses at our leisure. One section of the garden seems to get more sunlight and that part had far more roses currently in bloom than the other, more shady, section. The website was helpful to check and make sure pruning hadn’t begun yet, and I was glad we were able to visit before January pruning. The roses are beautiful, and the garden boasts a generous variety of colors, sizes, and scents. I appreciated the labels, though we did not take advantage of the informational phone messages you can call into for more background on the garden and its rose varieties. Although we weren’t there for long (perhaps 15 minutes), it was a lovely place to pause during the day and walk around....

Pics/vids were taken on 5/19/24. There were plenty of roses in bloom on my visit. This rose garden is so underrated, free and accessible to anyone. The closest parking is by the side of the road next to the rose garden. This is a good spot to have a little picnic or take some photos. There are plenty of shady areas and benches to sit. Just be careful as there are a lot of ants. Definitely recommend bringing a picnic a blanket of some sort. It does get hot out so wearing a hat & bringing water when you’re strolling the garden is a must. I come here often around April-May before it gets excruciatingly hot out. If you’re going to visit please don’t leave trash behind.

This place has potential for some really good flowers, but when I went (late august) most of the flowers were dried up. Moreover, a lot of the dirt was pushed over the planting area, onto the sidewalk. In addition, when walking from one exhibition to another, the hay/spikey sruff in the ground gets into your shoe, which is really annoying. The flowers were really pretty though, and came in different colors: red, white, pink, and yellow. There were also benches spread throughout the park, which was really thoughtful and useful.
