Grounds for Thought — Restaurant in Mesa

Without a doubt one of the best coffee shops in the valley--well, and that I've ever been too, period. Probably spent over $1,000 already while taking classes at MCC over the past year, and I always get the iced Espresso Patronum (any Harry Potter fans out there?), which is my #1 favorite coffee beverage of all time.

If Harry Potter isn't your thing, Grounds for Thought actually has a full movie-and-book themed menu, including a Star Wars milkshake and a Lord of the Rings smoothie. Nothing's too expensive either: all drinks run about $4 on average, and nothing is over $5 unless you opt for the 32 ounce size.

Did I mention they're locally and family owned? If that doesn't take the cake (yep, they also have pastries, burritos--even a sushi box), then I'm not sure what will.

P.S. They should be paying me for this review but I love them so much I don't mind writing an essay here--even though I should be working on finals right...

This is not a "public" business in some stripmall it's a community college shop. It's not available easily to non community college students at least because of the parking and it's not clear from the outside what building this shop is even located.

While this doesn't reflect the quality of the coffee, I put a low rating so that someone looking for a reason not to go here will find these important details that the other reviews don't mention. It also explains the almost universal...

Once a week, before my math class, I usually get the banana bread & the(I think it's called "fizbarry" drink, not sure,), w/ a shot of "brainbooster", and just kick back, relax, listen to some cool tunes that they have playing, and catch up on homework(or whatever). The prices are some-what decent, the environment is laid back and relaxed. All in all, I enjoy going there once a week to kick back and "unwind" a little...
