Gloria is the WORST. I went in to Home Depot for their Ryobi sale (buy one battery pack for $99 and get a free tool). I had a picture on my phone of the sale paper that I took inside a Home Depot store. The picture says valid 11/7/19-1/29/20. An employee, Scott (who wasn't wearing an apron) told me that the store would still honor the sale price, even though the sale signs in the store were taken down, and that another location might have more selection since their inventory was pretty low due to the sale. Upon picking my battery pack and eligible tool, I brought it up to the register to check out, knowing that I had been assured that the store would honor my sale price. Upon getting to the register, the sale price didn't ring up, and when I asked the cashier about the sale price and showed him the picture, Gloria immediately ran over and said that I would not get the promotion. She tried telling me that the offer was only good online and that I got the picture from online. Once I tried explaining that I took the picture myself in a store, she immediately tried saying that the picture was taken at another store so she would not honor the sale price. My picture was taken in a Home Depot store, had a listed end date of 1/29/20 (today is 1/27/20), and had not listed anywhere that the sale was limited to one store. She also recognized that the store HAD had the sale, but said that corporate office emailed them and told them to take the sale out of their system and not honor the promotion in store. How can you as a store fail to honor a sale price, which I have photographic evidence of, and that is still running? Gloria was very rude and aggressive when I tried explaining that the sale price should be honored, especially since an employee had already promised me that the store would do so. I angrily left the store and went to the parking lot, where I called the store. I spoke with customer service and asked if the Ryobi sale is still being honored, and told her that I had a picture of the sale saying it goes until the 29th. Kelly told me over the phone that the store would definitely honor the price and to go back in and talk with her. I went and got the tool and batteries again, and while she was checking me out, Gloria called Kelly and told her not to give me the sale offer. I was told if I could find the employee who originally promised me the sale price, they could give it to me. I searched through the whole store looking for the apron-less employee. I asked a few other workers if they knew who the man was based on a description, and that's how I got Scott's name, however I was told he had gone home for the night. I went back to customer service and told Kelly his name is Scott and he's no longer here. She called Gloria that it was Scott who had helped me and told me that I would be given the sale price. I was then asked by Gloria for Scott's last name. REALLY?! I finally got them to honor the price, but I was literally at the store for 45 minutes. Gloria should not have a job in any position at this store based on her attitude and lack of customer service. I will never return to this location, and this experience has really turned me off from Home Depot as a whole. There are many other competitors out there and I'll be giving them my future business. Ā Ā Ā Read morePerhaps mine was an isolated incident. Perhaps it was isolated because I will not return due to the possibility of it happening again. I wanted to purchase a lawn mower (24V) that was in the same location as the 36V. For some reason, it was ringing up as the 36V when scanned. I asked for a price reduction to which I received a reply of "we can't do that, it's the price that it's ringing up at". I then proceeded to explain how this mower was a 24V, not a 36V and even though it was ringing up as such, it was still a 24V, so the numbers were incorrect. I then asked for a manager after I was told again that nothing could be done. Instead of getting a manager, I received another associate that I THOUGHT was the manager (since that was who I asked to speak with about a possible price reduction). I was then told the same thing that the initial employee told me. I asked for a manager again. In the time it took to find a manager, I saw a refurbished cordless/electric mower and inquired about that. I was told it came with all of the same warranties and if anything was wrong with it, I could bring it back and they would handle it the same way they would any normal warranty. So I brought it home and it wouldn't charge. The adapter was not working at all. I took it back and was told they would only refund me my money. Which would have been okay, but I was under the impression that I could return it for a correctly working mower or part. I explained this to returns to no avail. I asked for a manager and got an associate from the lawn/garden department. This particular associate said "ya, we honor it just like any other warranty." Returns said "we can't take it back and swap it out, we can only give a refund." So, I got my money back, and left. I was tired of being given the run around every time I asked for a manager. One associate tells me yes, then can swap it out, the other that they can only give refunds. When I asked "If this was a new lawn mower, what would you do?" Returns replied "we'd let you swap it out if it's under warranty." I then asked "does not the same warranty apply to this item?" To which an answer in the affirmative was received. I was then told again that I can only get a refund. The information was obviously conflicting. I ended up going to Lowe's and getting a floor model that was clearanced out at -$120! A steal! I was also given free oil, not just the one that comes with the mower already, but another. I was helped outside to load it in my truck (assistance not received at Home Depot), and the employee seemed knowledgeable about the mower in question, even helping me to decide on getting a gas mower in lieu of an electric one due to the size of my yard. I was just really disappointed with this experience at Home Depot. This occurred...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally, this location is friendly and helpful, it's like a dream come true! Ha. But of course, my luck had to run out this time. So, there we were, checking out our baseboards at the self-checkout (which isnāt really even self checkout). And who do we encounter? None other than the Grinch's long-lost twin sister, I swear! She was just dripping with condescension and rudeness, it was truly a sight to behold. So, we had these two different 16 feet long baseboards that we had cut into two pieces. My husband, being the genius that he is, tells her right off the bat that we have two of the 16 ft baseboards each of them were cut into two, a 7ft and a 9ft. 7+9=16, 16x2=32. But oh no, that wasn't good enough for our lovely Grinch impersonator. She scans one of the boards and asks, "Are they all the same baseboard?" And my husband, in his infinite wisdom, responds with a confident "yes." But apparently, that wasn't the answer she was looking for, because she just had to be difficult. She snapped back at us, "That's not what I asked you!" Wow, congratulations, ma'am! You certainly outsmarted us with your superior questioning skills. Then, she proceeds to pull out one of the boards and measures it, just to make sure we weren't pulling some sneaky baseboard-switcheroo on her. Of course, being the polite customers that we are, I kindly inform her that we had cut each board into two pieces, AND each measuring 16 ft in total before being cut. But oh no, that wasn't good enough for our delightful Grinch impersonator. She had the audacity to say that measuring every single board was a requirement of her job. Well, congratulations again, ma'am! You've really cracked the code of being a retail worker. But might I suggest you work on your attitude a bit? It's not exactly winning you any medals in customer service. So, my darling husband decides to stand up ALL the boards, just to prove a point. And what does our lovely Grinch impersonator do? She gives him the dirtiest look, as if he committed the crime of the century. But hey, we're not done yet! After telling her a third time 32 ft total and even do the math for her because apparently, she never took basic math, she busts out her phone to do the calculations. Wow, lady, you must be a mathematical genius! In conclusion, I just can't comprehend how this brilliant individual managed to land such a prestigious job. Clearly, we were dealing with one of the brightest minds of our time. So, a word of advice to our dear Grinch impersonator: get your act together and try not to be so rude to customers just because you struggle with basic math. It's not a good...
