!!!BUYERS BEWARE!!! I was down in New Mexico on vacation, I purchased a "sterling silver lab created opal and kunzite" ring from Sarah's Jewels for an affordable price. The next day I noticed my finger was turning green, obviously not the 925 sterling silver it is stamped and sold as such. Unfortunately, I didn't see the small, handwritten "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" sign on the wall. I went in the next day and informed the same counter person whom also assisted with the purchase two days prior what was happening. She said it "could be my skin reacting to the sterling silver" or "a reaction of the metal with any lotion or cream I use". She recommended coating the ring with clear polish. She also mentioned the owner "used to have a guy that was selling plated jewelry" but "she cut him off after finding out." That statement and her nail polish suggestion lead me to believe this is a common occurrence. She did text the owner about the situation which the response was "all sales are final, no fault of the product, offer store credit." I appreciated that gesture but didn't care to get anything else from a store selling fake jewelry. It is now 6 days later and there's areas of copper coloring on the ring where the plating has worn off completely. As well as I noticed the opal is a fake called a Triplet. A thin slab of Opal with a dark back, and a clear domed top coat. If you look at it from the side there's a clear line separating the plastic and the opal slab instead of being...
Read moreMy husband I are originally from El Paso but were visiting Old Mesilla on a Thursday morning from Arlington, TX. We stumbled upon Starah's store in search of the perfect wedding rings after 3 years of not having one! We meet the owner herself, Starah and she listens to our story, we have great conversations and then she directs us to the Dry Creek (sacred buffalo) white turquoise ring with sterling silver plating for me which is SO beautiful and rare as we will soon find out. My ring came with a matching necklace that I HAD to bring home with me as well. My husband bought a sterling silver band with a bear claw and a small sleeping beauty turquoise stone which she explained meant "reflection" in Native American culture which was significant to us. We left the store and took our rings to a local silversmith in El Paso who helped resize and engrave our rings in time for us to have and leave back to Arlington by Saturday morning. The silversmith was excited to see that we had legitimate sterling silver rather than nickel plated silver and reassured us by the engravings on the back of the plate. He told us about sleeping beauty stone and the rarity of dry creek white turquoise and that our stones were absolutely beautiful! This was reassuring that our interaction and transaction was genuine with Starah whom we loved her bubbly personality from the get go. THANK YOU SO...
Read moreMy sisters mother in law bought 2 necklaces and was charged for a ring she never purchased. When confronted by my mother in law’s sister, she lied and said she was not there and could not speak on it. Would advise anyone traveling through , DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE! This is theft and by the looks of it, this is not their first time stealing from their consumers. Look at the owners reviews and see how inappropriate her responses are to customers. Should show you what kind of person she/he is. This place sucks and the people who run it suck, god bless.. what would Jesus do, ask yourself this… and then ask yourself once more and keep on doing that till your not in front of him because you freaking steal from women who just want to have fun and live a rich and joyful life…. Shame on...
