I've been a resident of Mesilla for 50yrs, I'm not much of a drinker and only go out to a bar every 4-6 months or for special occasions. And it has been a really long time since I'd been to El Patio mainly because of the horrible treatment by one of the door guys that's usually there when I have gone. Then forget trying to get a drink in there if you don't know the bartenders or look like their type of crowd. They are plain rude and unfriendly no matter how nice or respectful you are towards them. I've gone with people before that know the bartenders very well and we have gotten excellent service. But I took a friend recently and we were completely ignored. And were told by the guy bartender or barback that they were not serving any more alcohol. Yet everyone around was still ordering drinks. So just a heads up to anyone thinking of trying this place for the first time I'd go elsewhere. The owner of this place should actually hire some decent bartenders with customer service skills and decent personalities. And either more bartenders to cover all their patrons or bartenders that don't get so overwhelmed by a busy bar. These girls there can't handle a packed or semi-packed bar without stressing out and taking it out on...

Before walking in we asked the bartender (a blond lady) if we could bring in our son because we know you can’t bring kids into most bars. She told us yes and walked off so we walked in. We were sat for 5 minutes then she came over and yelled at us “I can’t have kids it’s illegal guys ” when we tried to talk to her she avoided us. It was really embarrassing to us and I’m not happy at all with the service because we were told false information then got yelled at by the same lady. People were asking us if we had common sense so I had to defend myself by telling everyone that we did ask before coming in. I would not recommend just because of how horrible my experience was not only was I embarrassed but I had people yelling at me trying to make me feel like a horrible parent. The bar tender could have told us quietly so the entire bar didn’t stare us down Today is dia de los muertos and we were just trying to find a place to sit and get a glass of water and...

I was shocked by how unprofessional and disrespectful the bartenders were. From the moment I approached the bar, they acted as though serving customers was an inconvenience. They rolled their eyes, ignored drink orders until I had to repeat them, and spoke in a rude, dismissive tone.

At one point, when I politely asked about a menu item, the bartender responded with sarcasm instead of providing an answer. The overall atmosphere created by the staff made the experience uncomfortable and unpleasant.

This was not just a one-time issue — I’ve experienced similar treatment on previous visits, which makes it clear this is a pattern rather than an off day. For a place that relies on customer service, this kind of attitude is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I’d advise others to take their business elsewhere until the staff is trained to treat customers with...

El Patio is a nice local bar in Las Cruces NM. El Patio has a nice "old school" atmosphere as it was established in the 30'. In El Pation you can enjoy a good variety of beers on tap with a nice local bar experience. This bar has TVs (good for games) and pool tables. There was also a nice little table with free food for happy hour. If you stop in Las Cruces you gotta check this place out!

Came into town for a quick trip, saw this bar and we couldn’t resist going in (went both nights I was in town)! The atmosphere is the perfect dive bar to hang out in and as many have stated get to know the locals. Everyone we met was friendly, would 10/10 recommend.

This place has been around forever. Not much if anything has changed. The decor hasn't changed since my first visit here in 1977. The bathrooms are still atrocious. I like the laid back vibe and friendly patrons. That's why i give it a 4.
