This is by far the nicest apartment I've ever had the privilege to stay in. The staff is great, the apartment building themselves are very clean, and the amenities provided are excellent and convenient. Location is great, especially if you're a professional working nearby and/or if you are a pet owner. 9/10, would live here again. 1. Apartment: I live in their 530ish sq. ft. studio apartment on the first floor. I highly recommend living on the first floor of either of the three buildings - firstly, there aren't really any great views besides the apartments facing northwest over the pond, so living on the other floors is pointless; secondly, using a balcony as a second entrance/exit is very convenient. The apartment itself is modern & clean, and personally I had no problems with my unit like others have complained about. The building's interior is also very clean, and a cleaning staff comes to vacuum the hallways and wipe the doorknobs every morning. The building's exterior is also clean & aesthetically pleasing to look at. The building has plenty of entrances/exits, multiple ways to get to the underground garage. 2. Underground Garage: It's nice, heated, and has storage rooms assigned to every apartment - my storage room assigned to my studio apartment is about half the size of my living room, it's huge which is very nice. Parking spots aren't super squeezed together, I can park my SUV just fine. The trash & recycling dumpsters are down here and are well ventilated, so they don't get stinky for long. There is also separate dog wash room with a giant stainless steel tub for washing doggos - very nice if you want to wash your dog & not worry about cleaning up spilled water everywhere. Also there are bike racks to hang your bicycles onto the wall, which are a nice touch. 3. Amenities: Clubhouse is very nice and looks professional, so if you want to host meetings here, you can do so. It's free to book any of the rooms here, which is a huge plus to me. The pool area is huge, but the pool itself isn't that big. I like grilling, and really appreciate the six gas-fired grilles near the pool area. There is a dog park that recently had dog grass (fake grass, basically) put in so no more muddy paws. Of course, since this is a very pet-friendly apartment complex, they have doggo poop stations all over so cleaning up after pets is easy. Also during non-winter months, and before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were some pretty fun events hosted for our community by the staff, which is something I've never seen before done by other apartments. 4. Surrounding Area: I think it's important to consider the surrounding area within walking distance to the apartment, and the surrounding area here is pretty sweet. Greenway Station is a very neat area to walk through, especially if you're walking your doggo. There is a bike trail here, and sidewalks everywhere. I know I'm saying this often, but everywhere is very nice & clean, which I try not to take for granted. See photos below. 5. Some random cons: I didn't give this place a full 5 stars because its a bit expensive (cost is justified, though still expensive), the doggo park should be divided into two separate areas so doggos that don't get along with each other can still enjoy the park and it would be awesome if there were more obstacles for doggos to interact with, and the water is extremely hard so take care of your kettles/coffee machines - I asked the staff about it & they said the water softeners only soften hot water, and even then it's not very soft (around 600 ppm TDS from faucets which only goes down to 400 ppm TDS using a standard carbon filter water pitcher like Brita or Pur filters). The hard water is my biggest issue, and unfortunately there is not much that can be done about this unless the owner decides to invest heavily into better softeners or perhaps better controls - it's not a huge deal but the only solution is to use bottled water or a resin filter. Overall, this is a great apartment complex and if you're wondering where to live, I would highly recommend Market West.

I lived at Market West with three roommates for one year, and we are the original renters of our unit in building 8440. Our experience overall has been more bad than good, and we did not renew our lease due to outside factors. My experience with Market West has left me with the impression that the office staff (Kristina especially, who has been incredibly pleasant and about whom I can't say enough good things) has been forced to deal with a lot of shortcuts taken by the builders.

Work requests are received same day or next day. However, time until the issue is fixed has varied widely, from immediate fixes (improperly fitted door handles and specialty bulb replacements) to a month later (fridge not closing properly) to unknown (smoke detector sensitivity).

Pros: sound isolation between other units is great. The only time I know that my neighbors exist is when their smoke alarms go off. You can hear your neighbors fairly well if they are out on their patios, but neighbors for the most part are considerate.

-Storage is really great. Closets are huge with multiple shelves, and the complimentary garage storage is crucial for big items. I can’t say enough good things about the amount of storage.

-Kitchen is incredible- this has the kind of kitchen you hope for in a new place, and it can handle several people in it at one time (me and two roommates can all set up stations in the kitchen comfortably).

Cons: -sound insulation WITHIN the unit is practically non-existent. I cannot stress this enough, as it is the ABSOLUTE WORST PART about living here- this is legitimately one of the most poorly sound-insulated units I have ever lived in. This issue is thanks in part to 1) the large gap underneath almost every door (about 2ā€) and 2) the large, grated hole in the wall above the door to whichever bedroom has the A/C unit in it. This hole allegedly helps with circulation, but it really does make it sound as though your door isn’t even shut. If you are considering renting a unit in Market West, I encourage you to leave your phone playing some music in the living room, and then go stand in all the other rooms to hear how bad it is.

-Smoke detectors are very sensitive. If you listen closely around breakfast time on the weekends or dinner during the week, you’ll hear a few smoke detectors going off from your neighbors. It has been remarkably inconvenient to have to get all of the roommates together to open the windows/fan the smoke detector/ set up desk fans because someone decided to fry some bacon. Management said they would send someone by to adjust sensitivity, but we have no confirmation that that happened and there seems to have been little change.

-Surface parking, especially for 8440, is very hard to come by after about 7:00 on weekdays. There have been times I have had to park on the west side and walk back to my building. That’s not too big of an issue most days, but if you have mobility issues or are bringing in some big items/groceries, the walk will be a pain. Furthermore, the issue is made insulting by the fact that some parking stalls are taken up by single mopeds, large trailer hitches displaying no tags, or giant piles of rocks for landscaping purposes.

-As other reviewers have stated, there was a pretty unfortunate water leak that happened between the 3rd and 4th floors within a few months of us moving in. Our unit was only moderately affected and took one of our bathrooms out of commission for a week. This seems to be an isolated incident (we have had no issues with water since), but I felt it worth mentioning.

To me, the two-star rating means this unit would maybe be fine for someone, but it's really not for me. If you want a big kitchen, lots of storage, in unit A/C, and fun amenities like yoga, a gym, and a dog wash station, then this may just be the place for you. If you are liable to get upset by a lack of noise isolation in your apartment, inconvenient parking situations, a little unresponsiveness for work orders, and some very sensitive smoke detectors, then I would look...

No carpet in upper units along with poor parenting kids playing basketball and adults walking hard on wooden floor. This is especially true for apartment 8430 people on the third floor 305. I’ve called POLICE several times!!!!!!!’ I don’t and wouldn’t allow my kids to play basketball in an apartment especially! Its a management problem nothing in place too absorb the noise from the wooden floors especially for people on the third floors. So rotten place to live and you are paying over $2000 in some of these units... Don’t let the looks fool you...you’ll regret it!!!!!!!!! Management has not tried to solve the problem in fact they’ve ignore it and try to play the tenants against one another. They instigate a problem.

Update from 3 months ago!!!! After management viewed my review and stated that they would work to establish a more comfortable environment!

Well, here we go! Noise, police Noise, NOISE!!! I Pay more for MORE PROBLEMS.... So, here’s an update from 3 months ago! Now take it I’ve only been here 8 months with no peace just problems! So, on my last post I explained the construction problem regarding Market West. There are 4 floors. The first and the second floors HAVE carpet and the 3rd and the 4th do NOT!!!! Therefore, there is NO NOISE Absorption!!!!!! On the 3 floor units! So, if you move on the 2nd floor which I do then you HEAR ALL the noise from the 3rd floor. So, here is my update from three months ago from management tagging my review stating that they WILL make things more comfortable...how right? Well, my Comfortability has been solved! They move the same exact problem into the unit above me. I hear the same exact noises I heard from before a child running around with or without shoes throwing dropping stuff pounding on the floor wooden floor that is....No supervision a seemly neglected child because you hear everything the parents- are in the other room and the child is running around knocking stuff over and the noise is AWFUL!!..So my problem is solved and I’m more comfortable I got the same problem just new neighbors and new POLICE!!!!!!! The noise causes retaliation among neighbors!!!! So beware!!!!!!!!you’re paying more money for more problems problems problems and more noise noise noise! And for those who read this and don’t believe I will go to YouTube and post a MARKET WEST video of all the noises I hear from my apartment from the third floor. I record the noises on a regular occasion and forward them to management. So,I have several recordings from the first set of neighbors to second set of neighbors all of this in my first 8 months....If I could sell the noises, I would be as rich as Market West owners. I hear these noises from 7:30AM to 9:30 PM from 8430 #305 .There is hardly ANY let up it’s pretty constant. And, they have a right to these noise per.management because kids are a protected class! No that’s how they solve problems at Market West to ensure tenants are...
