We have had numerous updates and repairs to our home over the last 10 plus years. We have spent a total of $80,000 plus dollars. This is by far the worst business we have ever dealt with. The "handyman" Matt was claiming hours of labor that they were not here working, The job was poorly done. See photos of the gaps left between the PVC wrapping to the wood beams and the wood boarding. Also, there is apparent warping to the beams and a area of wood is left exposed. Notice a flapped nailed piece of metal with a jagged edge was also left. Never once have they ever addressed our issues but demanded their money. It took us months to get them to understand they had double billed us. Even though we had the invoices. At one point they came up with forged signature after we insisted for a month that we needed to see what labor hour and for what days they were coming up with an additional $1350. Then the repair worker Matt showed up at our home without notice or approval, while we were not here. He entered our garage without permission too. We have the emails and pictures the worker sent to us with the date and time. They claimed we gave Matt access to our home via code and a key?....We NEVER did this...and we have no "code" to access our home. They also placed a lien on our home! I was able to dispute this and get it removed because it had been over 60 days since their last day of work. The owners stated they did not know the law in Indiana on mechanic liens? Would think that this is a major element to their business since they mention the mechanics lien and the customer should be knowledgeable about the liens. They sure aren't. We are applauded at the sarcasm from the owner when we questioned the billed labor hours. We were told that they bill outside of scheduled labor days for billing purposes. We also paid for over $450 of supplies purchased with our card by the worker. Nothing but some pvc wrap was left. Would avoid these people at all cost. I feel sorry for the people they have as customers that have no money and knowledge of legal matters. They have worst business ethics and have no concern for customers satisfaction....just want their money. They use threats of...
Read moreI blame the owner/management NOT the workers.
Scheduled an 830 on Monday, got a confirmation text the Sunday prior for 1130. Noone ever contacted me regarding the change and the confirmation was sent on a day that noone works. (Called multiple times Sunday to try and resolve.) Talked to the owner Monday and pretty much was told some other jobs took priority, so he waved the $66 callout part of the fees. But because of the delays, they lost out on a ton of extra work. Overall, the work that was done was okay. Wouldn't say they were the best but they were able to do the work quicker than specialty workers would. Don was friendly and as timely as he could be given the situation, worked the whole time and didn't try to 'run up the clock'.
I'm not in this for somekind of compensation. Instead, offering advice. Send confirmations on Friday or Saturday instead of Sunday for Monday jobs. That way any conflicts can be resolves. Whoever handles scheduling NEEDS to make sure they are making calls updating customers, never just assume the customer knows/agrees to changes. I never received any kind of receipt or paperwork. They didn't explain anything, just kept saying "sign here". That is also a problem.
Conclusion: If you need something done quickly and relatively cheap, they are not a bad option. But as far as first impressions go, they blew it for me and I doubt I'll be using them again. I also doubt I'll be recommending them to anyone I...
Read moreI have used Mr Handyman of Louisville Northeast two times now and have been very happy with their service. In 2019 my service involved putting in new smoke detectors. Ali was the person who came and he was very professional and did a great job. On April 8, 2021 Alan Maerz came and he too did a great job. He spent 6.5 hours doing various things-hanging pictures and a mirror, changing light bulbs, installed a shower head, put screens in my windows, put on new toilet lids, put together a new shower rod-kind of a "honey do list". He was so very easy to work with. Very professional. Right on time. He was very knowledgeable in every aspect. I so appreciated that he was patient and very knowledgeable in the picture hanging area. I did not know what to expect. He was very patient and made sure I was happy with where and how the pictures were hung. He had the right tools for everything, gave helpful information and in general made it an enjoyable experience. I have not one complaint! He had great communication skills; very impressed. I have talked to at least 3 people in the office. I find them great to work with. They explained how they charge and worked with me to estimate the time I would need for the work. Very nice people.I needed a little extra time and was so happy that Alan was able to stay and finish everything. I...
