My first time here. We arrived around 4:30, only one other customer there who was finishing up. Salad and soup were fine. Pasta looked dried out, so didn't try. Root beer syrup/CO2 mix wasn't quite right; sweet tea was fine. Cookies were good.
At least 7 pizzas on the buffet, all full or nearly full, plus cheese bread (a lot for few to no customers). How many hours old were they? 1, 2, since lunch? I don't know, but they certainly looked and tasted dried out and old. I should have asked for fresh pizza, but for my first time here, I wasn't certain what the standard was. As we were finishing, more people came in and fresh pizzas showed up. I tried a slice. Much improved and more cheese than the pizzas they replaced, which gave the appearance they cater to meal time crowds and slight those in-between.
How much contempt do you have to have for your customers to let them pay for and eat horrible pizza. My advice: Instead of making 7 or 8 pizzas for the dead time between lunch/dinner, make 2, quartered with the toppings of the 8 pizzas, or halved with the toppings of 4 pizzas. And throw them away every hour and make new ones. Ask the few customers you get between meal times what they like in order to augment the few pizzas on the bar with specific half & half pizzas. Or don't offer buffet pizza outside of mealtimes.
And though I admit now that I should have asked for fresh pizza, (Fat Jimmy's) please don't tell me that that's what I should have done (as you've done in other reviews). It's not just the customers responsibility to ensure they get quality food, it's primarily yours. ...
Read moreThis was my first time here in probably 2 years. The restaurant is following all Covid-19 protocols. Each customer gets a plastic tong with their new plate on each buffet trip. It felt completely safe and the pizza was good. All employees and customers were wearing masks which is A+ in my book. Everything was clean as well. I actually mentioned these different things I liked and appreciated to one of the employees and he was very happy and gracious that I complimented him and the restaurant in general. I'll try to come back again soon.
EDIT -- I returned today June 11, 2021 and my experience was completely different. The covid protocols are gone. The pizza was old and dried out on the buffet. Tables were all back some of which were filthy. A school team of teenagers came in and was taking pieces of pizza of the buffet with their hands instead of tongs which is nasty and unsanitary especially now. Nobody was wearing a face mask or covering except for me. My opinion of this place has changed completely. I will never be back...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Fat Jimmy's and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The buffet offered a wide variety of pizza options, from classic pepperoni to jalapeño pineapple it was truly a taste sensation. The crust was perfect, the sauce was flavorful without being overpowering, and the toppings were fresh and abundant. The Salad was great as well.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or family. We sat outside at the picnic tables with the weather being as nice as it was.
Overall, I would highly recommend anyone in search of a memorable pizza experience. Whether you're a traditionalist or an adventurous eater, there's something for everyone on their menu. I can't wait to go back, the service was impeccable! Let me not talk about the prices! Very affordable eating out with the...
