On the plus side, there was a very generous portion of chicken in my quesadilla rellena. However, that was the extent of the positives of this place. The food was underwhelming, sure, but the service was dreadful.
First, the waiter asked my male partner what he wanted to drink before asking me. Second, someone whisked my partner's plate away the second he was done, even though I hadn't even started eating my food yet because I was waiting for sour cream. I guess I can't fault them too much for that because it seems like every restaurant does it even though it's rude. But the worst thing was that while I was in the middle of one of my very first bites, and had obviously hardly even touched my food yet, someone else came up and asked me if I wanted a box. I mean, yes, I wanted a box, but they absolutely could not wait for us to get out of there, for some reason. It wasn't crowded (and I can see why), we weren't there particularly late, and we didn't take that long, so I don't know what their problem was.
I would give this place a miss - there are so many better options for Mexican food...
Read moreThis place was great! I absolutely cannot recommend coming here enough and I was dubious at first because I'm not a fan of Middletown normally. The food was amazing, a unique menu and all of it was delish. I can't wait to go back and try more. The Margarita dip was so good. But the best thing was definitely the service. Every single waiter was super friendly and helpful, they even put our food in our boxes for us and had great answers for my 101 questions about their margaritas. You should definitely check them out!
Edit: I've been coming back here consistently and the quality of the food is top tier every time. I would highly recommend this place if you want to branch out from your usual food order since they do everything well. The meat is never dry (which is a problem I've had at other places), and the mole is killer. Favorite place in...
Read moreThis is my hidden jewel for Mexican food in the area. There are bigger establishments, but this restaurant is well run and the food is always good. I believe their salsa is the best that I have had in the area. Their burrito el carbon entree had my mouth watering when I think about it. A nice burrito shell with steak slices, nicely sauteed onions and peppers, and their amazing cheese sauce poured over the top. Another good meal is arroz camarones (rice with shrimp). It starts with a nice bowl of rice with sauteed peppers and onions, with shrimp layered on top. The amazing cheese sauce is optional. the staff works in harmony together like I have not seen in other restaurants. The manager is very friendly and will do everything to accommodate your dining experience. It's one of my top go-to...
