Awful customer service. The manager (older short Hispanic woman) whom I never got the name of was extremely dismissive, complained & argued with customers. The gentlemen customer told her that the prices he was charged for were advertised & posted for lower than what he was charged. He showed her around the store & when they got back to the register her excuse was “well my guy is out on the floor changing the prices now”… it was 4:43pm. The customer looked confused (as I did as well trying to figure out what she was even talking about) & he replied “it’s the middle of the day.. before the school year even begins” All she had to say was “well we can return your things if you want.” The gentlemen who came with his daughter went looking around the store again which I presume was to find reasonable supplies.. the manager as soon as they left ear shot of her told her cashier “call me up here when they come back because they’re going to try to play you and tell you things should be different prices.” I just stared at her in disbelief. As a MANAGER… what are you doing? I felt uncomfortable my self while shopping for my own supplies and even second guessed getting things. I tried to shake it off & just continue on with my shopping. After I paid for my belongings I looked at my own receipt & realized that I was also overcharged for items marked lower than what was advertised. Example: 15.98 for FOUR mechanical pencils? Insane. The price advertised in the back to school section as soon as you walk in the door was 5.49 & I made sure it had the correct label & was in the correct box where the price matched to confirm it also advertises 5.49 online. But for 10 dollars more in store with a lady who claims they’re changing prices in the middle of the work day… in the middle of a sale? No thank you. I went back in the store & returned. Simply as the rude manger probably would’ve suggested if I had encountered her myself personally.
I just feel as though as someone who is in management you should be professional because if people aren’t shopping there.. you’re not getting paid either. Food for thought. Super sketchy behavior,...
Read moreI utilize Ipostal for my packages, and every time I go to Staples to pick up my packages I have a problem. Today I want to pick up one of my packages and I was told that it wasn't there, although USPS clearly states that it was delivered to one of the store employees. The store employee kanisha needs to be fired, she's extremely disrespectful and rude, she does not allow you to speak, she hung up the phone on me when I asked her to stop interrupting me and let me speak and to please lower her voice. She then gave me the wrong number to corporate, when I called back and requested the correct number she said that she's not giving me any number then what she already gave me. She really needs to be terminated from her position because she does not like it, I have never had a store employee disrespect and talk down to me in the manner in which that woman did. As stated before every time I go in to pick up my packages I have a problem, EVERYTIME and I pay for Ipostal services. The general manager Mike is awesome and always helps me, he called me and told me that he did not see anything in the mailbox, so I called back to inform him that the delivery note states that it was handed to a store employee. However, Mike was gone for the evening, so I had to speak to kanisha (that's the name she gave me) and it's very unfortunat that Staples hired such a poor quality individual to represent them in their store, she's everything that's wrong with customer...
Read moreThis morning I was the first in line to make an Amazon return drop-off before shopping for a new office chair.
I was glad to have been first in that return line, since minutes later it was 15 people deep.
By the time I was ready for someone to help me with my chair, it was even longer. As I stood at the customer service desk, this is what the manager was saying to the person ahead of me:
“I wish Amazon would just go away. I’m sick of it already. We don’t get anything for that. That’s why I don’t give a $hit about the people standing in that line. I don’t care how long it takes.”
Nice! I really think that Corporate needs to know that this is how the manager feels, and that he has no problem being very open about sharing that opinion vocally with the customers.
What he doesn’t realize — and he should — is that Staples gets a lot from Amazon! For instance, they got my business today when I bought a $350 La-Z-Boy office chair after I made my return, because I knew I would have a coupon when I got out of the return line!
And, lots of folks do just that: they make a return at the Amazon counter, and then shop at Staples!
Staples might want to reconsider their choice of managers for a store that seems to have an awful lot of negative reviews. I wouldn’t let that guy manage my...
