So today I was accused of stealing in the store by one of the produce associates inside Aldiās today I come in here and shop every two weeks and I spend two $300 at a time I like the store because itās convenient and itās near my home as Iām scanning, which I am not done yet the produce associate along with another associate I see her from the corner of my eye. Sheās watching me scan. Also, he comes to stand by me, pretending to scan something so I continue scanning and Iām about to pay mind you I have my two grandchildren with me how embarrassing he walks up to me and gonna say you didnāt scan the stuff at the bottom of your carriage and I said yeah I did if you werenāt paying attention so I go and touch the screen and he accuses me of not scanning a bag of chips and some soda again I wasnāt done scanning I I proceeded to finish scanning pay for my things and walk out the door never in my life have Iāve ever been accused of stealing any groceries which I donāt have to I come in here and spend my hard-earned earn money in the store yet only to be accused of stealing I proceeded to show him the receipt as Iām walking out the door to verify that I didnāt take anything or steal anything which he and another associate accuse me of because I see her watching me as well, which was very creepy. I never had anyone watch me in a store at self-checkout I get you may have people that do come stealing in that store but at this, I have no reason to steal. I have never been embarrassed by the way I was in the store in my entire life. I will never spend any more Of my money in this store ever again I have just been profiled as a thief in a store that I have gone to every two weeks for the last four years you will never see my face in the store. Where I appreciate it and value it as a customer how dare you Aldi you guys gotta do better these damn ages you have to treat people with a little more respect and a little more courtesy I will never Shopping in that store ever again at that location I have never been humiliated like I have been today again. Iāve been a long-time customer out of the store never will you see my face or get any of my money in that store ever...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat food and fast shopping. Aldi (which owns Trader Joe's, which runs on the same "store brand" products instead of "name brand" items) is a wonderful place to shop. Having just one of every items means I'm in and out in a matter of minutes, instead of wasting time hunting up and down aisles for the best price of the numerous brands you'll find in other grocery stores. I don't find everything I'm looking for at Aldi--sometimes I need something they just don't carry--but it's never something that I need for my day-to-day shopping. I like being able to bag my own groceries rather than be sent home with 3-4 items per grocery bag. This way I can use my own bags and pack everything the way I want right up to the top so I can make just one trip from the car to house and don't have a dearth of plastic bags building up in my home.
Their fruit/veggie section is a bit simple and these items don't always stay nice as long as they do when you get them at other grocery stores, but I just don't stock up and buy only what I will need for the next few days, which is fine.
In regards to the reviewer who said the cashier smashed their eggs, I've never seen any problems like this. Aldi has great customer service and if they did accidentally break something, they are quick to offer you a replacement.
My only other recommendation is to bring a quarter to unlock a grocery cart, but you'll get it back when you return your cart to the cart area by the front door.
Lastly, I will say that when I first went into Aldi, I was a bit snobbish and turned off by the fact that they didn't carry brands I recognized. However, once I gave it a shot and tasted their store brand food, my opinion was totally changed. Everything is yummy and the prices can't be beat! $1.79 for a bag of baby spinach! $1.99 for a big...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy FAVORITE grocery store. It is a learning curve when you start shopping there, but now, it's my go-to for almost everything. 98% of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The self-checkouts were the best idea someone has had so far. I used to be a name-brand-only person, but now there are so many products that I prefer Aldis brand over name brand. You need a quarter for a cart, don't understand why so many people make such a big deal over that. I keep one in my car. Prices are phenomenal. I also shop and deliver for a delivery service and Aldis are my favorite orders to receive. Just a few negatives for me.. and the reason I only gave 4 stars.. 1. The hours are ridiculous. 8 pm closing?? In a city?? Smh.. 2. No beer sold at the Middletown location, but sold at all other Aldi locations??? 3. They put the Aldi finds out a week or so early, so that the date something is supposed to be available, they are already sold out. 4. They run out of paper bags EVERY SINGLE MONTH AT THE BEGINNING. After years of this happening, no one thinks to order more for the beginning of the month? (I am required to bag my...
