Gravity Coalition — Local services in Midway

If you aren’t local, don’t buy a bike from this business to be shipped to you. They pull you into their site with steep discounts and then bait and switch at checkout by adding $150 for a “full build and tuning.” They assure you building the bike when you receive it will be simple, and there will be nothing else to do except attach the front wheel and the handlebars.

When I received the bike, I had multiple questions about the disc brake because I hadn’t owned a bike with one before. The seat post was also ridiculously high. I sent them pictures of what I had done, and they directed me to my local bike shop to have it looked at and to cut down the seat post.

When I took it to my bike shop, they informed me the derailleur was messed up. They advised that they should do a full check of the bike to see if anything else had shifted during shipping to ensure the bike would be safe to ride.

I informed Gravity Coalition of this immediately and that my local bike shop was going to charge me $75 for this service. I was told via email that Gravity Coalition would do something to help me recoup the cost, perhaps in the form of discounted product.

When I sent them the receipt for the work my local bike shop did, I received a very short response informing me they would only be returning $12 to me because they had researched the bike shop and that was all my local shop “should have” charged to look at the derailleur.

Poor communication and shady...

TALK ABOUT EXCELLENT SERVICE. I was looking at a Surly KM and found a crazy deal 500 dollars off most other sites. The biggest discount I saw lately was maybe 300 bucks off. I thought the Surly was used one but it turns out its just a late model and still BNIB! Gravity Coalition has a neat way of reaching out to customers. I have never seen a shop you can text to get quick answers. Very convenient because I was at work. All of my questions were quickly answered by Jennie. I also had asked her about the time frame for my bike to get shipped since we have package thieves in my neck of the woods. I was told three days to ship and from west coast to east coast it would take approximately another 4-5 days to reach me. Turns out she had it shipped out the next day and I received it that following Monday. 4 days ahead of what I presumed would be the date of delivery! This bike shop is great and full of deals. I don't live in Utah but I will gladly support this shop from afar and perhaps one day give it a visit! Check out their website, its full of deals that you can't find anywhere else.

Kody and the crew were great. I ordered a bike from them online, which unfortunately was an inventory error. The order had to be canceled since they didn't actually have the bike and it was discontinued. Kody reached out and helped me find a bike that fit my needs. I spoke with his wife as well and she explained the spec difference between a few bikes to help drive my decision. I ended up with a better bike, and Kody helped me out with the price as well, which was really awesome. They're quick with setup and shipping out bikes, and free shipping is a huge plus. I'd highly recommend them! Pricing is fair, and customer service is top notch. I would assume going into the store is also a great experience. Thanks again Kody! Can't wait to ride my new bike.

EDIT: Bike came packaged extremely well, with no damage. Lots of protection in the box around the critical parts of the bike. Showed up in a timely manner and required really minimal setup...
