I used to really enjoy The Polish Bar in Gahanna. It’s a small, chic spot, quiet, never too crowded, and initially felt like a hidden gem. One of the perks I really liked was that they offered drinks while you got your nails done whether it was a mimosa, wine, or a “big girl beverage,” it made the experience feel like true relaxation.
But over time, the customer service became noticeably different, and after my last visit, I won’t be returning.
I walked in after work without an appointment fully understanding it might be a long shot. I stood there for a while before anyone even acknowledged me. When someone finally asked if I had an appointment and I said no, they told me there were no openings and asked if I could come back tomorrow. I thanked them and left.
Something didn’t sit right, so I called them from my car, still parked out front. I asked if they had any availability for a pedicure today. The woman on the phone said, “Let me check the schedule,” and then said, “Yes, we have openings what time would you like to come in?” I told her I could come in 10 minutes, and she said that was fine. She took my name because, according to her, the computer wasn’t working properly to pull up my number.
So I was turned away in person but welcomed over the phone minutes later, from the exact same location? That says a lot.
Whether the reason was based on appearance, assumptions, or something else, it left me feeling incredibly disappointed and unwelcome. It’s unfortunate, because I genuinely used to enjoy coming here.
Thankfully, I pulled out and as I was driving through the light, I saw Social Nail Bar. I decided to stop in. I didn’t have an appointment, but they greeted me kindly, handed me a card, and told me to call the number to see if they could fit me in today. I called, and the gentleman on the phone was very respectful. He worked diligently to get me in. He had one technician start removing the gel from my toes, and as soon as another became available, she finished the full pedicure.
The customer service at Social Nail Bar was excellent, professional, warm, and efficient.
Businesses should remember that how you treat people matters just as much as the services you provide. Sadly, The Polish Bar made their...
Read moreFirst time visiting this salon, and my colleague and I were greeted by a gentleman at the door who was tending to the register. He was cordial, and proceeded to direct us to two of the nail technicians who would be taking care of us this afternoon.
That's when we met Pon K. and Vicky D., a couple of veteran techs. They did a great job greeting us and made us feel welcome to their shop.
I noticed that the place was pretty busy and had a lot going on, but they kept us focused and Made great conversation while we were getting our pedicures. Pon worked with my colleague, and he commented that she was doing a great job, while Vicky took care of me.
Vicky had excellent attention to detail, and did a solid job with my feet, as well as provided a great leg massage. My colleague was very relaxed, and also positively commented on Pon's skill.
We both opted for the highest tier (the Rosey Day pedicure), and I additionally selected the Manicure Bliss after talking through our options with Pon—she did a great job explaining everything, and she took care of my manicure herself.
I had a great and relaxing time getting a very intense massage from the chair, as well as from Vicky. She was very thorough and considerate in her execution.
Pon did a good job with my manicure, and I appreciated her conversation and sense of humor. She did a great job massaging my arms, and I almost fell asleep from how relaxed I was!
Everything considered, I have absolutely no complaints with the services rendered, and I can tell that my colleague was happy with his session.
The price was right, and the quality is above...
Read moreI went to polish nail bar for my 21st birthday because they also served drinks. I go in for a Mani-Pedi and the nail tech was so gentle and careful (that’s the only reason I’m giving them a star at all.) The next day I wake up and all of my nails are chipped. I called the salon to see if I could get them fixed. The first time I called I explained the situation and they hung up on me. The 2nd time I called I was able to speak with a manager immediately. They schedule me an appointment for the next day at 11. I go in at 10:50 and they made me wait a while (which I didn’t have time to do.) After waiting 35 min I was told it would be another 10-15 min. So I just asked for my money back because I didn’t have time to wait. They refused to refund me the cost of the polish portion of the mani-pedi. The owner immediately took me back to correct my nails. He was filing another clients nails while one of the nail techs removed my polish. He then immediately went from filing someone else’s nails to painting my nails. He did NOT even wash or sanitize his hands ( I am a licensed cosmetologist by the way). That is unsanitary and against state boards sanitation policy. The 5 min polish job was the worst polishing I have ever received. 2 of my nails aren’t even completely covered. He didn’t wipe off the excess polish surrounding the nails. I got the color red and my fingered were red tinted after he polished them. There is clumps of nail polish under and on the edges of my finger nails. I will never ever go back...
