Every visit is a horrific experience since COVID-19. The aisles have arrows to show one-way direction, but some customers aren’t paying attention or are disregarding. When I ask that they please follow the rules of one-way, i’ve gotten these responses: 1. “I work here, I don’t have to follow those rules”. I guess this employee doesn’t comprehend why the rules are in place! Wow. 2. From a customer: “I’m not following the rules, I’m over this and it’s none of your business”. Really! Wow, another ignorant shopper that doesn’t understand we’re putting these rules in place to try and avoid a resurgence!!!! 3. From another customer: “I didn’t know it was one way, but if it bothers you, you should have someone shop for you”. Wow, more ignorance. If you follow the rules, we can all shop safely. 4.Yet another customer who cuts within a foot of me, again, the wrong way up the aisle and responds: “I only need to grab one thing”. Really, really incredible level of ignorance; I guess the almost 105,000 cases in MA and almost 7,500 deaths mean nothing to all of these folks. I say to Stop and Shop, the arrows are not making a big enough announcement. They blend in. One Way signs should be posted at both ends of the aisles to help enforce this. The one way arrows aren’t visible enough and are easy to ignore as some pieces of the arrow are missing. Please post signs at top and bottom of aisle and please...
Read moreSmall but excellent quality compared to many stop and shops! My only two gripes:
We tried to do pickup for the first time, and had absolutely no idea where to park. There are no parking spots for pickup, nor is there a lick of signage directing you where to go. We called the store and were told to park in the fire lane. Odd.
I had a disappointing experience at the deli, too. I used the pre-order kiosk to order 2lb total of meat/cheese. I shopped for the rest of my items for 20-25 minutes before returning to the deli. They didn't even start my order until 5 minutes after I got back to the deli, and it took about 5-10 to complete. There were 3 deli workers and a small trickle of walk-up customers, who were served immediately and walked out in no time. I waited 30-40 minutes from placing my kiosk order to when my food was ready, which completely defeats the whole purpose! I will just walk up next time because apparently, you get faster service.
I have worked in grocery stores, so I am not speaking from lack of knowledge...
Read moreThis store might have the worst self checkout machines in America. Literally the last three times I've been here the machines glitch requiring an attendant to come and reset them. Lest the reader think it's just me, today when mine glitched again, there were no less than four other machines besides mine blinking and people waiting for the attendant. If you so much is breathe onto the bagging area while you're checking out, the machine thinks you're stealing and starts glitching and freezing. And of course they had like one other human lane open, so you're really forced to use the self checkout. The cleanliness, selection, in general appearance of the store is fine but this self checkout debacle makes it frustrating when you're done shopping. For that reason I typically...
