Oh I wanted to love this place. Was craving steak tips.
The front of the house staff are rude and ignore patrons. We walked in lots of people standing there thinking there was a wait my hubby put our name in for 3. One of the 3 people there took our name and number and said 5-15 mins. A bachelorlette party of 8 was about to leave but I told them hey its only a 5-10 min wait for 3, why don't you guys put your name in. They were sat immediately.
So we're still standing there 20 mins later everyone else is seated. Another group of 3 walks ups and one of the other 3 hosts say yeah I can probably seat you now...I decided to speak up and say well can you sit our party of 3 1st since we've been standing here waiting?
When 1st seated a waitress over heard my unhappiness and told me the kitchen was backed up that's why there was a wait. When I explained there was no wait she apologized. Our waitress was also great and the BOH wasn't communicating with her.
Drinks were underpoured, my daughters chicken tenders had no flavor but cardboard, my husband's wings were chewy. My steak tips were tender but not medium. I didn't get the mushrooms/onions. The salad had no ranch when I came out it looked as I was brought an already served salad as the tomatoes cucumber and onions were on the bottom and the salad had been already dressed. My daughter didn't get her fruit cup. Once I got my dressing there was food in it. Tips were a bit spicy.
All and all I won't be back. And yes we did tell our waitress of the missing items and she did try to correct them. She was tipped. I don't hold anything...
Read moreI had heard about the Red heat Tavern for quite some time, but never got a chance to try it until today. Right off of Route 109 in Milford, Massachusetts, there’s plenty of parking and easy in and out . As soon as I opened the door to go in, I was hit with this really nice aroma of yummy food cooking. The interior is very modern industrial with accents of red. We were greeted at the front door by a lovely hostess, and we chose to sit at the bar. Our bartender Tina was very friendly, knowledgeable, and couldn’t have been more accommodating. I opted for the basic Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato fries. My lunch companion chose the hand breaded Crispy Tenders, and we also got a starter of Hot Baked pretzels with hoyse made Honey Mustard Dip on the side. The pretzels were the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly baked, warm, and soft on the inside with a delightful crust on the outside speckled with chunks of sea salt. My cheeseburger was a basic cheeseburger, but was cooked exactly how I ordered it. Medium. The sweet potato fries were awesome. Crunchy on the outside but so soft and meaty on the inside as they were a rectangular shape almost like a ziti pasta. They were not long and thin. The hand breaded chicken tenders were crispy and crunchy with a drizzle of Thai sweet Sriracha sauce on top. Our beverages were delicious and crafty as well. We ordered one Stoli blueberry vodka with a splash of Cran and a splash of soda and one Kettle and soda. Nice. Would I go...
Read moreI have now gone to the Red Heat Tavern a few times and have had varying experiences. On my first trip, I ordered the salmon with tomatoes and it was spectacular. Cooked to perfection and the tomato ramalade was very good. I decided to go back and the salmon was swimming in sauce and the ramalade was bland. I thought perhaps it was a different chef that night (which really shouldn't matter) so I tried it a third time and yet again, it was fair, nothing special. Consistency is an issue here. On my fourth trip, I noticed that they removed that salmon tomato dish off the menu so I ordered the steak tips, medium rare. They came out medium well and had seasoning on them that I didn't care for.
I will also say that the hostess, on this final trip, "greeted" me with no smile and was dressed in what looked like her grandfather's old, weathered, plaid, oversized flannel shirt and a pair of old blue jeans. I asked to be seated outside, in the shade. She brought me to a full sun table. I told her again that I wanted to be seated in the shade. She copped an attitude and pointed to another table located in full sun. I finally walked over to a table that had an umbrella and sat down. This seemed to annoy her and she walked away in a huff. Between the inconsistency in the food and the poor customer service, I won't be returning. I will say my waitress was friendly...
