Performers Theatre Workshop — Local services in Millburn

We have been a part of the PTW family since 5/16 when our then 9 year old daughter began taking voice lessons. Since that time, she has gone on to take advantage of the many classes and private lessons PTW offers. She's also been a student of its Pro Track for two years. Our now 8 year old son followed in her footsteps last year, and takes classes, private instruction and is a student of the Pro Track.

PTW is their happy place. Our kids always love going. Dean Kravitz, the teachers and staff are phenomenal! They are able to balance hard work, and fun in a caring and professional atmosphere. They know our children so well, and have connected with them from day one. They are so invested in helping them to make breakthroughs in their learning, and are always looking to help them improve and expand.

Both of our children have come so far so quickly. Their skills have grown profoundly, as has their immersion into the world of musical theater. They had no expectations of pursuing a professional career when they started at PTW, but 2 years later they are represented by Nancy Carson and Kerri Krilla, two top notch agents in NYC. PTW's NYC Broadway Showcase, and Pro Track opened up so many opportunities for them to meet industry professionals, and they were able to get extremely valuable feedback on performances for which they were so well trained.

I was very happy at first with the organization. My daughter did her interview and we were told she would be in the Juniors class. I was told that she was too young but they were going to make an exception for her. The reason I was putting her into a performing Arts school was to properly learn a craft that comes so easy to her. I was told they would be the ones to connect her with an agent. Well after about 6 months Being new to this I Didn’t realize she was never in that class. She was getting one on one at four years old which I later learned is usually for kids that are in shows etc and need some extra time and help. Not the Juniors class. So after realizing that I gave her headshot to the front. Asking they connect me with an agent. This way she could work on getting gigs, and stay at the school learning. Every class I was told we haven’t forgot about you. I decided to move on, and now she’s doing pageant shows and just brought home a win. We have had an amazing experience with Dean an his team at PTW. My daughter started in their program earlier this year after a thorough orientation, goal sketching session and the development of a custom lesson plan. We have had so many excellent teachers and mentors to guide us through the process of honing her skill set in the theatrical arena. They are staffed by an incredibly talented group of teachers who have come from the top ranks of the music, stage and film worlds. PTW has the ability to cater to many children and teens at different stages of development while simultaneously drilling down to the areas of focus that are most needed on and individual level. We are thrilled with all of the progress we have made and my daughter cherishes the relationships she has developed at PTW.
