New Jade Lake is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in Millburn. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by an atmosphere that blends modern comfort with authentic charm. The food here is nothing short of outstanding—every dish feels carefully crafted, with flavors that are rich, balanced, and unforgettable. The dim sum is fresh and delicate, the Szechuan dishes pack just the right amount of heat, and the seafood entrees taste like they came straight from the coast.
What really set this visit apart, though, was the service. Our young waiter, Wyern Cao, made the experience exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Wyern guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations—his suggestion of the crispy duck and garlic eggplant turned out to be the highlights of the meal. His professionalism, paired with a friendly energy, created the kind of dining experience that makes you want to return again and again.
Between the incredible food and top-tier service, New Jade Lake isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a true dining destination in Millburn. Highly...
Read moreI have been ordering from jade lake for months and I was so happy to find a new Chinese spot when I moved to Summit. The food has been very good on some days and just OK other days but the good days outweigh the bad. However last night I placed an order they told me 45 minutes after an hour and 20 minutes I called and asked if they had an estimated time and they said that the food had already been delivered. I usually pay with my card beforehand and add tip so I get a call to my phone when the order has been dropped off. I never got a knock at my door, the doorbell didn’t ring, and I had no missed calls. When I called to have the order refunded as it had been sitting outside for God knows how long, was cold, and there were bugs crawling on it-I was told that there was nothing they could do. I followed up today to make sure they would do right by a customer who orders every other week from them and was told the same, that they wouldn’t make it right. . They lost a consistent and well tipping customer over $30. I would not recommend...
Read moreI went to Jade Lake with my family on a Sunday evening. Convenient walk from home but we had never gone there before. We decided to give it a try. When we first came, it looked spacious, neat, and tidy but was almost completely empty. While we were ordering our food, another family came in and our waitress (the only one in the restaurant) left in the middle of the order to seat them, leaving us unattended. The snack they gave was mediocre and had cheap sauces on the side. The supposed Chinese tea they served was normal black tea.
The food took a long time to be served and while waiting people who had come after us were served 10 minutes before us. The food was average and out of the 3 dishes we ordered, we enjoyed only one. The restaurant felt too homely with what we thought to be the owners children running around the restaurant.
Overall, neither the food nor the experience was enjoyable. Despite the convenient location, Jade Lake Gourmet will be in our list of avoidable...
