I received a septoplasty/rhinoplasty with Dr. Swenson
I want to start with the positives: Prior to my surgery office staff was very kind and very quick to communicate. I did not feel rushed during my appointment. They got me in quickly to accommodate my insurance. Dr. Swenson was very kind.
Unfortunately, after my surgery my nose is extremely crooked. I asked for the bump on my nose to be corrected and I did get that result, my side profile on my non-collapsed side looks great in my opinion. However, when you look at me dead on, my nose is completely crooked. I've had friends and family tell me my nose looks worse now than it did prior.
I am a nurse and have worked in the OR so I get that these things happen and no surgery is guaranteed to be perfect. When I brought up the crookedness I was told to wait a year. When I hit a year and my nose was still very much crooked, I was blamed.
During my recovery I was extremely swollen and my daughter bonked my forehead (not the nose) , there was no bleeding, no additional bruising, no pain when she hit me, but I wanted to report it to the doctor to be safe. At the time I called in and reported it and the next appointment in-person and both times I was told that there was no issue, my nose would not be affected. But suddenly when my nose was still crooked after a year it was an issue.
I just wanted my nose to be fixed at that point so I asked for a quote for a revision and did not ask for a free revision at any point. I called once a week for three months. Then I would call about once a month after that. I was always met with a voicemail. I never received a quote and no one has followed up with me to actually schedule a revision. It has been almost two years since my surgery.
I find this interesting because communication was excellent prior to my surgery.
I have three consultations scheduled to evaluate what actually happened and hopefully I can get my nose fixed as my results are affected my breathing through my right nostril and my confidence. Based on the lack of communication and support after my surgery I would not recommend Dr. Swenson and his office at this time.
I am not one to leave negative reviews, but I'm hoping that leaving this review I will get some sort of response from the office. If I get a response, I will add to...

So you are telling me that when its lunchtime(12-2:00) where any normal working adult is able to make a call to schedule and appointment, get more information, and get their personal life in order, the entire staff is off on a lunch break? Where I then am not able to leave a message explaining my situation? And subsequently nobody replies to my multiple emails I have sent? So I try calling back the next day at the next day and nobody from the staff picks up? Where they then direct me to an “on call” doctor that is an automated machine that directs me to an individual that has literally zero idea to my current situation? We tried calling multiple times. Even tried calling just after 2:00 pm (after a supposed 2 hour lunch break) and we were told they were closed even though the office hours state 8-4pm?
As you can see, incredibly disappointed on this and for my loved ones trying to get in contact. Even with issues that the doctor told us to “please call if you have any issues on this as this is a serious drug we are telling you to take” we are just given the drug, told to take them, and not given the time of day when we have additional issues. Seems to be a pretty flawed experience for patients in the...
Read moreHad a rhinoplasty over a here ago with Dr.Swenson. He was very helpful with answering my questions and going over everything during the consultation and before surgery. And he was kind, I heard a lot of great things about him from the research I did. He discovered a deviated septum that needed some work. I initially went there for cosmetic purposes.
Unfortunately my nose looks a bit odd after surgery. I waited a year like they advised, and still feel very unhappy with the result. My nose doesn’t stick out as much and is slightly smaller, but now my nostrils are more uneven and the tip of my nose looks like there is a marble inside..The columella (I believe it’s called) curves outward and sticks out a bit. It didn’t before.
I am happy they fixed my septum, but the reason I went was for aesthetics. Now I will have to undergo a revision rhinoplasty elsewhere to achieve what I wanted to do originally. I had saved up my money for a long time to get this done.
Also, I didn’t hear much after my cast/stents were removed. I thought there was going to be a long term follow up, but nothing. Was hoping to express my concerns with him and get a professional opinion. That was 14-15 months ago.
I would not recommend him...
