Whittier Recreation Center — Local services in Minneapolis

A very sacred park... This place 25 plus years ago didn't have the school but basketball courts. A lot of turbulence from that time period when Minneapolis was infamously known as Murderapolis was attributed to the going ons attached to the crowd that hung out there and the surrounding nieghborhood. The park is sacred to me because of what happened in my journey of life - which is another story - let's just say it is where a whole spray of lead aimed in my direction missed and only by grace do I tell my story to you today. Sometimes especially in the Fall a whole massacre of crows gathers in the trees that still bear the scars of that encounter. And when I'm there I always remember those bygone days. Everyone of us has a story and every place does as well... We all should do our best to somehow tell these stories so that hundreds of years from now hopefully the bad decisions of ours and what we learned the hard way can be understood via softer lessons....
