We first visited on August 3, 2025 for a to-go order. We are vegan, so we ordered the mushroom bulgogi burrito, mushroom bulgogi hummus, cauliflower zucchini sandwich, battered fries, our and vegan black ice cream. The burrito was great- very well seasoned even with the sauce on the side. One downside is that the herbs come out. Wow delicious, we're not throughout the burrito so we didn't get it in each bite. The sandwich was just okay- it seemed pretty bland and needed the sauce, which we had on the side. Without the sauce, it didn't have as much flavor as it should. It needed more spice ex, too. The battered fries were good. The hummus was terrific- it wasn't something we were accustomed to as it's usually a side or appetizer, but this was all meal. We loved the sweet and spicy flavor of it and we hope that flavor profile is the norm. Texturally, the hummus was a bit too airy and almost baby food like for me. I prefer hummus with a bit more body- increasing the amount of olive oil and tahini usually adds body to hummus. I found the pita to be too spongy and probably should have been served warm; however, it was good and I knew I would order it again. The ice cream was fantastic! Not sickly sweet. Like some vegan dessert treats are- it was perfect and delicious. My second trip was today, August 7, 2025. This time, I ordered battered fries, crispy tofu bowl, chips and guacamole, mushroom bulgogi hummus, My son, who is not vegan, ordered beef kofta Burger and side of barbecue beef. My son said his meal was excellent, he would 100% return and he will tell everyone else to go back. He said everything was well seasoned and he found the smokiness of the burger "unbelievable." For me, the guacamole was fantastic- the flavoring was new to me, but it was terrific and I will order it again and again. The crispy tofu bowl was also very very good- I would have preferred that it were spicier, but I enjoyed it and would order it again. Today, the hummus wasn't great and, if it had tasted like today's version when I initially ordered, I would have never ordered it again. It was not spicy at all- it was quite flat and bland. I was surprised considering how great it was a couple days earlier. I packed it up and brought it home and mixed together gochuchang, soy, Sriracha, and a few other spices to give it a boost. I hope they can get some consistency going with the flavor profile and, if customers have an issue with a spicier version, give us the option of choosing plain, spicy, or extra spicy. The the vegan ice cream cake and brought it home. Service was excellent at the kitchen and milk jam. The ice cream cake was worth every penny; not only was it beautiful, but it was...
Read moreHi. There are a lot of great reviews here. It is great to see so many people with wonderful experiences at World Street Kitchen. I unfortunately was not so lucky. I was visiting Minneapolis and friends suggested this place because they absolutely love it. I thought I would too. I treated everyone to lunch and added a tip. We made sure to tell the cashier about my daughter's peanut allergy. She noted it on the order. I asked for receipt to be emailed but never received it. When the food was delivered the server could not guarantee my daughter's meal was not prepared on the same grill as food mixed with nuts. Being uncomfortable with this news, the server graciously took the meal back and assured us we would get a refund. After about 30 minutes, I approached the cashier to discuss the matter and she informed me that the credit will be applied in about 2-3 days. I asked if she need my credit card and she tells me no. I asked for some proof the credit will be applied. She tells me not to worry it will be done and that they are really busy. I kindly told her I from out of town and need to have something to show the credit was applied. At this point she gets frustrated and storms away to speak to a gentleman in the back who sends her to get someone from the other side. Introducing herself as manager, I'm told the same thing. Don't worry, the credit will be applied in a few days. I asked how does she know which is my order. She responds we will take care of it and says it is Labor Day and we are busy. At this point I insist that they provide me a credit while I'm in town and assure me it has been done. The 'manager' walks away with frustration and finds WSK copy of my receipt and process credit (so I thought). She hands me a copy as proof of credit. Reviewing the receipt, I notice that there are two charges. Now I question if these are debits or credits. I walk away confused but confident they did the right thing. Upon a second review of the receipts, my party and I noticed they over-charged me for our order. How did this happen? Believing they did the right thing and credit my bill, I didn't fight it. Back home, I call my bank and was told WSK has charged me twice. I never received the credit. I called first thing this morning and asked for management. After waiting for a long time, I'm told management isn't there after all. Management stepped out to run an errand and will return in a hour or two. Looks like I'm forced to challenge this charge to my credit card and/or call the Better Business Bureau. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT! - visiting...
Read moreWow, blown away. I've been here once before to go next door for Milk Jam but never got to try WSK out. It was worth it. Came here after our tennis match and it was an excellent choice. The fusion was definitely unique, the food was something you couldn't get anywhere else, lastly the price was higher than anticipated for the portions but it was still worth it.
We had order 3 items, the KBBQ burger, a KBBQ short rib burrito and lastly an ice cream passion fruit (skip!) Both orders were about $10 a piece and the ice cream was $5. The burrito flavors were something I've never had before and every bite screamed take another one. As for the burger it was more dry, I wish there as a sauce to pair with it. But unique foods are prepared the way they are for a reason. I was okay with it. The ice cream.... maybe take a trip to milkjam and stand in line that was weird. The flavors did not mix well and it left me done after a bit.
Atmosphere: 5 (It was very casual, hipster good music loud spacious and well lit from the windows) Food Quality: 5 (Quality was great still not okay with the ice cream) Service: 3 (Self serve - There's water, hot sauce and silverware for your own pickings. I think they should serve it would have added to my positive experience) Cleanliness: 5 (Everything was fair)
Stars 4.5 bump up. $30 after tax....
