BEWARE!

The lady that runs this business, Renee, is basically a horrible person. I’ve never dealt with such a mean, rude, and unprofessional individual.

My husband and I were all set to book a condo in Destin for next winter. Before we booked, I asked Renee via email about the cancellation policy for a specific condo for January 2020. She wording she sent me said that our deposit would be refunded outside of 120 days notice.

So we booked and paid our deposit upon her request. She then sent me the rental agreement with completely different wording for the cancellation policy, making our deposit non-refundable.

I asked her to explain and instead she just immediately canceled our booking. She didn’t even give me the chance to decide if I could accept these different cancellation terms. I called her to discuss, and she started attacking me saying “I know people like you” and “if you’re a problem now, you’ll be a problem later” and that it was best to part ways now. She bombarded me with all these accusations which were baseless and so hurtful. I suppose she’s dealt with some real jerks in the past, but that’s no reason to pre-judge new guests.

She finally explained that they had “changed their cancellation policy” and I said “in the last two days since our email?”. It just didn’t make sense. She then got really mean, would not let me get a word in, and then she HUNG UP on me. We were issued a refund, but had to take a hit on the exchange rate.

Basically, I think she was hoping I wouldn’t read the fine print. And she didn’t know what to do when I called her on it. Big scam.

Normally I go through sites that are rentals by owner and things have always gone well. This time after starting our search that way we stumbled across Beach Condos In Destin. So glad we did! Although we’ve always had luck, their process is much more thorough and I felt a lot more secure in reserving for Thanksgiving week. It’s a much more detailed and secure process in my opinion. We stayed had Maravilla condos and everything went perfectly. Renee and Laura are both very friendly and quick to respond and are excellent at what they do. They provided excellent instructions/documents for the renting process and even sent follow up ones to verify and extra info about the area that was very useful. I also love that they have rentals for doggy peeps! We lost my father this fall and I’m not thinking clearly. I left behind something valuable and was very stressed about it. We called when we returned after I discovered it. Renee was wonderful! She was very kind, understanding and compassionate about our situation and went that night to retrieve it. It was there thank goodness and she’s going to mail it back to us. I highly recommend their condo rental service. We’re returning this April and will use them when traveling to the Destin area. A Shore Bet at Majestic Sun was perfect for our stay at the beach! The condo was great as it had a beautiful, unobstructed view of the beach and gulf from the living room as well as from the master bedroom. We saw dolphins and other marine life from our balcony-which was my favorite spot in the condo. It was equipped with most everything we needed for our stay. And the in-unit washer and dryer was a plus. The resort gave us several options for activities including multiple swimming pools, pickleball courts, and a golf course. We also enjoyed the Cabana Cafe on the property. The resort is very convenient to shopping , restaurants and water activities.
