This was one of my biggest regrets at one point. In 2004, I had recently had a some major life changes, and had moved to the area, and was desperately in need of a job. So, I went through all of their paperwork, etc. and was called later that day and told I would be starting a long term job on the following Monday, starting at 8:00 AM. I was excited about the opportunity, and was looking forward to starting over in the area.
Later that day, I got an interview for a company in Laguna Beach. The interview was scheduled for Saturday morning, and I was going to head to the beach anyway, so I figured this would be perfect. I suited up, went to the interview, and lucky for me, they offered me the job on the spot. I told them that I had just accepted a position, and that position started Monday at 8:00, and asked if I could let the other company know that I wouldn't be starting there first, before starting this other position. The owner was reluctant, but said I would need to be there by 9:00 AM.
I tried getting in touch with AppleOne, because I wanted to do the right thing, and didn't want to just abandon the first job that I was offered. I left messages for them to call me, and I never heard back. So, Monday morning I showed up at the job and the doors were closed. I called Appleone, and found out that the hours started at 9:00 AM, and that it was just a "typo" when they told me 8. I told them about the other job, and said I wanted to make it right, and they said the only way I could do that was to stay there until 9, and let the other company know. So, I called the job in Laguna, and told them I would be coming in at 9:30, after I had a chance to cut ties with the first company that offered me a job.
When they finally opened, I explained the situation, and the woman was very understanding, and said I was always welcome to come back if something didn't work out. During the conversation, I also found out that the salary that I was quoted by the temp agency was a salary that I would earn AFTER 6 months, something they failed to tell me. So, I was glad I took that other position... After all this, I went to my job in Laguna, and the owner said that he felt I was too unreliable since I did not get their at 9:00 as he originally stated at the interview. I tried explaining, but he wouldn't budge.
I went back to AppleOne, told them what happened, and said despite the lower salary, I would start that other job, and they said they were not going to send me there; despite all I had been through in order to preserve my reputation with them. I then stated that the manager had given me her card and said I was welcome to come back, and they said I was not permitted to work for that company because they were the ones that sent me there.
Anyway, despite being long ago, it was a terrible experience that complicated my life at the time. Based on some of the other reviews, I am not alone in this; other than the extremely...
Read moreI reached out to AppleOne regarding a Construction Project Manager role that interested me at the time. Bonnie reached out and scheduled an interview with me. The interview process was smooth and very personable. It was more of a conversation to get to know me and what I was seeking to best match my interests with other roles they may have in addition to the Construction project management role. Unfortunately, the client never responded back to our inquiry, however, Bonnie was always on top of updating me weekly. She was also always quick to respond to my emails and made the process less stressful with the updates.
During the search, I chose other positions that intrigued me and always sent it to Bonnie for consideration at AppleOne with other clients she had. I eventually ended up finding a staffing/recruiting role that, unbeknownst to me, was an internal position. Upon emailing my interest, Bonnie immediately took action and forwarded all pertinent information to the hiring manager. I was scheduled interviews the same week and was hired within a two week period.
Bonnie is absolutely down to earth, kind, and gentle. I highly recommend reaching out to her and her team if you're searching for work in the Mission Viejo Office! Shootout to Bonnie for the opportunity to work at an...
Read moreI cannot thank Bonnie enough from the bottom of my heart. She is the kind of recruiter that every person should count on!
Since the past year, it has been really rough for me to find the perfect job or work at any place that I could stay for at least a few months. I felt like I have not impressed many interviewers and companies lately despite that I have a good resume, college degree, and relevant work experience.
I had been let go twice from two different companies/clients because I was not a good fit for them, sadly. Receiving those news out of the blue did destroy my dignity and confidence temporarily. But, thanks to Bonnie for always being on my side, and she makes me gain more faith in myself to find another job in the near future. Also, what makes me more confident and less burdensome is that she is never disappointed in me after I was terminated from 2 new jobs through AppleOne because she knows that I am always doing my best and maintaining my integrity at work.
Lastly, Bonnie regularly emails me and asks if I am doing well at my job. She is very caring!
A million thanks to her for being a great recruiter and the yummy cupcakes she gifted me! I got so addicted to Nothing...
