Kaguya Sushi in Mission Viejo is an absolute gem that I would gladly drive across town for! Everything about my experience here was exceptional until the last bite.
The chef's special was admittedly on the pricier side, but it was worth every single penny - and then some. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the fish impossibly fresh, and the presentation was stunning. It's the kind of mouthwatering delicious that makes you close your eyes and savor each bite, something most restaurants can only aspire to achieve.
The service matched the quality of the food, with attentive staff who clearly take pride in creating a memorable dining experience. The ambiance struck that perfect balance between elegant and comfortable.
What truly earns Kagura their fifth star is that I'm already planning my next visit. This isn't just a place I'd recommend - it's a place I'd happily go out of my way to return to again and again. If you're looking for sushi that transcends the ordinary, Kagura is absolutely worth the splurge.
Also, they have an ongoing special buy one roll get the second 50% off . Will return for that...
Read moreHayashi Japanese for a fast healthy lunch option.
Hayashi offers a great lunch menu with loads of options.
The Sushi is fresh and good but keep in mind this is not a typical Sushi restaurant.
Think of it more as a fast to-go option with Sushi more along the lines of what you would pick up at the grocery deli counter to-go.
Price and speed make 8tca very worth while option when you are craving Sushi but don't have a lot of time. Also an excellent option if you want that inexpensive lunch vs $50 plus at a typical Sushi place but still want healthy Japanese style lunch over a burger or pizza.
I dig this place and will definitely make it a regular spot a few times a month.
No complaints what so ever and an incredibly nice staff too.
Great option for food delivery services.

As I ate, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. This was the kind of restaurant I had grown up with, the kind of place where the food was made with honor and respect. It was a refreshing change from the corporate chains that dominated the food scene.
When I finished eating, I paid my bill, and left a generous tip separately. I wanted to support this local business, and I also wanted to send a message to the big corporations and other TV chefs: I'm not going to let you insult my intelligence into paying for your workers' salaries and benefits. I want my gratitude to directly reach the...
