Denault's Ace Hardware — Local services in Mission Viejo

Always a good experince but I find it is sometimes best to look for things myself and spend a little longer as I have been told multiple times that they don't carry what I am looking for, only to end up finding the item in the store with a little effort. That is not true for all employees. The younger ladies, not sure their names but one is a manager now, by contrast, seem to go above and beyond to help. I was in line the other day and an older lady walked up to one of the employees who happened to be standing next to me if they had a light bulb she was holding up. While the clerk was thinking about and looking at it, she looked at me and I said yes, it's at the end of the isle with the light bulbs about half way down. Having recently been looking for light bulbs I am familiar with what they offer. She looked at him and he finally said okay maybe and started walking to that isle. I get a bad feeling if I had said nothing that lady would have been told no. That has happened to me more than once and sadly if ask me if they can help me find something now, I will usually decline. I would much rather have someone tell me that they don't know if they have it or where it might be, than lead me to believe it does not exist and/or they don't carry it. Now dont get me wrong, I am a regular and loyal customer and have been for many years and will continue to be for many more. As such this is not a critical review of the store as whole. I am posting this today because it happened to me again today. There was no confusion about what I was looking for, nor any apology for saying the store didn't carry them. I was only here for just a few minutes to grab one thing, while on a short road trip. The one downfall I instantly noticed: there ARE two restrooms, but only ONE is for customer clientele. The other stays tightly locked, for employee use ONLY! Despite the fact that there are only 4 employees in the whole store at any point in time, and completely disregarding the fact that the line for the ONE aforementioned restroom QUICKLY accumulates to 5 or more!! They don't even let the line at the REGISTERS get that long! Is it just me, or does something seem a little "off," with this picture? That issue aside.... There's a LOT more than just hardware here, Ladies! Some BEAUTIFUL pieces, and collections! Next time you're man says he's going to the hardware store, don't be opposed to accompanying him! I went in this afternoon looking for a replacement for my bathtub faucet stem/cartridge, and some tools for a DIY repair.

Since the tools have to fit correctly, I flagged down an associate to help. He was knowledgeable, but admitted his expertise wasn't with plumbing so he called over another associate (manager?) to double-check our findings. She was able to confirm the tools we picked out would work for the job by opening the packaging to ensure the tools would thread properly, and even demonstrated how to use the tool on the part I purchased.
