I’m new to the area, saw 4.9 stars and was super excited to eat here. Almost no cooked food menu, $18.00 Mixed tempura... sure, why not? Oops, that wasn’t worth $8.00. Miso was typical, $3.00 bowl of rice that tasted like cardboard, but had a decent consistency. Sushi was typical, not great, but fine. $8.00 for a Japanese Scallop that was the best thing I tried, but not good enough to order again. The finishing touch was a salmon skin hand roll that wasn’t crispy and the salmon skin was cold. I assume this was cooked in advance and put in the countertop cooling system. A bit pricy and the hours are a bit odd but have always left full and happy. The hospitality is amazing and each roll or dish is hand prepared with care.
The hand rolls are huge - beware when ordering as they are quite filling (and delicious!). Cucumber salad is refreshing and the yellowtail and tuna are incredibly fresh and light.
Daily specials are “special dishes” not necessarily specials of the day (price wise).

A real traditional sushi experience. Not western rolls and all that stuff that isn’t sushi, but really fresh nigiri, and sashimi choices.
Ok you can get some of that here, you are cheating yourself.
The tencho ( sushi chef) is Japanese and has a daily special board with lots of fantastic choices.
