Nerdy By Nature Escape Rooms — Local services in Mission Viejo

My group has a decent amount of escape room experience and I can honestly say this was the worst experience we’ve ever had. I can understand when something is accidentally left out of place when resetting a game or something gets broken by the group before you, but our entire game was ruined by a mistake made by whoever set up the room. They left behind a remote that controls all of the mechanics for the room, naturally we fiddled with it thinking it was part of the game, then were able to accidentally bypass the entire main portion of the game. Not only that but many of the puzzles were solvable by accident (I’m looking at you coded locks that weren’t well jumbled). We have already played both of their original games, and so did our little ones. Family friendly as there is plenty to play with, especially if you have little ones.

Challenging puzzles and quite a few duh moments as like some of you been there. Overthink a puzzle or clue.

This game is not an add to a list and play later game.. it is a book it now before it expires. Like its a limited showing. We never play games twice, but think this fall/winter we will be back, without, the kids to truly have a challenge.

Many twists and turns, and we absolutely loved the ending. Hurry up and bring your A team for this Scooby inspired, perfect example of a Scooby Doo fans own unique mystery.

My team of three stopped by earlier this week to play both games (The Initiation and The Lost Treasure of Captain Blackbeard) and we had an absolutely fantastic time here. The owner was incredibly kind and chatted with us both before and after each game, which only brightened our visit. Both games were very fun, with The Initiation being the harder of the two and Lost Treasure being the more immersive and light-hearted experience. I'd recommend Lost Treasure to anyone and everyone, with Initiation to those with some prior escape experiences under their belt. We cannot wait to see what games are here...
