I’m not one to normally be upset with places like this and for the most part in the beginning I had great success and experiences with Runway. But unfortunately today was my last straw. In the past I have brought in name brand NEW clothes to Runway to sell or get store credit for, and most of the time I’m given everything back. I have even brought in 200$ converse shoes that I wore once that were definitely in style and people would want, and still they denied taking them because they “were older than a year” which is crazy because I’ve shopped their store and there are PLENTY of items that are older than a year. I just don’t think I fit their demographic unfortunately, because I’m not an itty bitty teenager. That seems to be who they cater towards anyways. Today I was told that they didn’t want to buy anything because my clothes needed to be washed because they had pet hair on them.. lol they were clean and folded nicely, yes I have a dog, and unfortunately dog hair gets on things, but they literally had a lint roller on the counter…. I just feel like they expect WAY too much out of folks when it comes to buying clothes, and if they ever do offer you anything it’s actually a slap to the face. I get they need to make a profit, but it’s actually sad to see how much they lowball people on everything. Maybe y’all should get rid of some of the clothes that you’ve had on the hangers for over a year before telling people you won’t buy anything that’s over a year old. Just a thought. I have never been so embarrassed and quite disappointed, I usually have a good experience here, but unfortunately I’ve been profiled to be a shop lifter, NEVER have I ever shoplifted, I don’t understand how, I was wearing tight fitting clothes there was absolutely no way I could lift anything, I barely had room on my person for my cell phone and car keys, I didn’t bring a purse or anything in there. Maybe my appearance was a bit off due to medication I’m currently on, it’s pretty sad how women can be so cruel to other women. I don’t understand it even when I’m on point with my appearance I don’t look down on people, because you never know what battles they’re facing day to day, but to add to it thank you ladies for watching me in the changing room. I’ve always been a paying customer. Your storms are coming. I will make it easier for you ladies and not return. But thank you, you opened my eyes, I must look pretty sloppy right now if you ladies are looking down on me and assuming I’m desperate and low to lift from a second hand...

They have cute used stuff but a lot of it is overpriced. We went school shopping here and unfortunately a few of the items we wanted to try on had stains, rips and tears and they were the most expensive items. When presented the flaws to the staff they seemed unfazed. I don’t think they inspect their used clothing very well. They also have some new stuff from China that is overpriced. If you stick to the used items and inspect them well you might find some good deals.

EDIT January 2021 - Now as a person selling items. It is hilarious bringing in name brand items with tags that have never been worn and to be told "Super cute, There's just some wear" and then 2 weeks later bringing in the same items and having them being taken no problem. This shows me it's really up to whomever decides to take your items that day. What kind of mood they're in, and if they personally like your items or not as well.
