I walked into World Market ready to make a purchase of several hundred dollars, but left empty-handed after a very disappointing experience. I signed up for the advertised 15% off text promotion (a QR code visible at register)but when it came time to apply the discount, the system wouldn’t work. I worked with Jazz, who tried troubleshooting multiple times, and when that failed, she referred me to another employee (an older brunette woman with glasses).
Instead of helping, this employee immediately showed visible frustration and told me I would need to wait until the manager got out of a meeting. In other words, my time as a paying customer was treated as if it had no value. I wasn’t about to stand around indefinitely, so I left without buying anything and took my money elsewhere.
It’s frustrating that a store would refuse to honor their own promotion and handle it with such disregard for customer service. In the end, they lost out on a few hundred dollars of business and potentially a...
Read moreLove World Market, but whoever they’re letting run the place has a horrible attitude and no customer service skills whatsoever (she has long brown hair, I think she’s the manager). I made an online pickup order and the confirmation email said that WM opens at 10 on Saturdays. So does their google hours. So, we drove across town to WM and called the store to bring the order out. The woman who picked up declared that they open at 11:00 and hung up on me before I could tell her that their actual hours on their website state otherwise. So, we waited an hour and came back and went inside this time. There was the manager, still with the nastiest attitude ever, acting beyond put out that she had to grab a bag and hand it to me. That woman needs a serious attitude adjustment. And maybe they could update their...
Read moreWe love this store, my kids especially love all the fun candy selection. One of the employees there (smaller, gray hair with ponytail) has repeatedly on more than one visit, asked my children (and myself) if they want their pennies when giving us change. Why would we not want our money? This is incredibly unprofessional, we aren’t giving any money to world market as a charity, even if it is a few pennies. Also, we always have to ask for a bag. She seems put out when we do, it’s strange. I also wanted to pay with $100 bill and she refused because she didn’t have enough change in her register (didn’t want to hassle with going to another register?). I didn’t want to push it because we had to go, but also-very...
