My husband and I usually stop at Brookhaven's weekly. The deli is fantastic and they have a wide variety of different ethnic foods and beverages that you can't find anywhere else nearby. The people there are very friendly and helpful, too, so it pains me to write this. But every single time we go there we find an item from our grocery list that is expired. Butter, cereal, milk, snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.), beer, produce, and even spoiled meat (where the date said it was still good but when we opened it at home the smell was God-awful; tonight it was ground bison that had a supposed expiration date of 12/10). It stinks (no-pun intended) that you have to check every label of every item you want to purchase, but unfortunately that is the case if you choose to shop here. Read moreI have gotten more bad luck than good luck with stuff in this store! On Dec 12 th Tues morning I went into the store to buy some bread and pickles to complete my menu for a family lunch I was preparing. When I saw the packaged bacon buns I bought a package. I retired home to share them with family, ate three out of the six! Later in the day noticed green spots on the bun that was stored under the previous ones that were eaten! Brought package back to store with receipt and spoke to a heavy set Hispanic girl with glasses, who was very mild mannered over the whole thing that went on to tell me that didn't understand what happened that they get the buns on Thursday every week!!! Cooked bacon in bread don't have a week shelf life outside of the refrigerator!! Watch this place, hopefully the health department don't make a...
Read moreThis market gives me the freshest produce, at a price that cant be matched. The ethnically diverse grocery selection is the biggest reason I keep coming back. They make sausage in house. In house .I can't name another store that could supply me with shark loin steak, and halibut, and swordfish, and Chilean sea bass. I have never seen a gourmet cheese selection like this, and the deli has such an in depth counter. You can get what you want at this store. I am going there in the morning to get procioutto de parma, goat cheese, hot cappicola, and crackers, with a bottle of wine, so that I can lay around with my lady on Labor day. I live twenty miles from this store. My promise to you, is that if you visit this store ,you will eventually think of it as your go to place. My favorite...
