I will be the first to admit I have purchased far too much jewelry throughout the years. In fact, many pieces I never wore and either gave them away to friends or donated them to specific shops that ultimately resold them and gave the proceeds to favorite charities of mine.

As a chronic shopper, I spend much time speaking to many salespeople and checking out inventory to add to my collection. I meet many interesting people along the way, but I rarely feel compelled to write such a verbose review such as this. Please bear with me -- you will be glad you did!

Please be aware that I am an extremely selective individual. I have purchased many pieces from fine jewelry stores. However, until a friend told me about Distinctive Gold Jewelry located on LaGrange Road in Frankfort Illinois, I did not know what I was missing! Truly, I was unaware that a jewelry store,(or any store for that matter), could be so much fun! The first time I entered the store, (and I have been there several times since), I was greeted by a young man named Alex, who was an absolute delight. I felt like I was being greeted by my own personal concierge. He knew everything there was to know about the store and had the largest smile I've ever seen. As it turns out, he is one of the owners' sons. Everyone should have a son like Alex. He, himself is a real jewel and I look forward to visiting with him each time I am there.

The salespeople, who are mostly family are extremely personable, tremendously professional, and really know their product. Additionally, the inventory in this store is not to be imagined! I was in 7th heaven! If they don't have what you want in stock, they can get anything made for you. I was also amazed by their competitive pricing. Truly, shopping at this store is one of the most pleasurable experiences I have ever had. The owners are Tony and Joe who are brothers. If you are really fortunate, you may get to meet Tony's wife, Suzanne. Lisa, while not a blood relative, has known the owners for almost 30 years and is a real complement to the staff. She is friendly, extremely bright and certainly adds to the shop's unique ambience. All of the people mentioned are very eager to help you in any way they can and enjoy customers just stopping by to say hello. Much to my amazement, they seem to remember most of their customers by name. This extraordinary familiarity speaks volumes to me.

If you are looking for a jewelry store that will feed your appetite for a vast showroom filled with beautiful pieces at affordable prices, then this is the store for you.
