Went in to return some clothes for my mom. Couldn't find anyone anywhere in women's clothes, but found a nice guy in mens polo section. He told me I had to return to the department that the items were bought in. Weird, but I told him ni couldn't find an associate in women's. He went with me to look and couldn't find one either. After 10 minutes, found a female near cosmetics that worked there. I thanked him, and he left.
Went to register to return, and female associate informed me that I had to return to exact department that the items were purchased in. I informed her that she was only one we found in women's. "Sorry" I went a bit Karen on her, I admit. Ask yelled at her across the floor, where is customer service? Upstairs she yelled back. I went upstairs and tried to return there. Was informed I should go back down to women's. I refused and demanded a refund there and now. Manager showed up due to yelling on 1st floor and apologized. I just wanted out of there.
What th hell kind of business is this??? 2 people on 1st floor??? And what am I supposed to do, hang out by a register in a department waiting for someone to return from lunch, or til tomorrow?
Awful store, employees, and manager! Except Polo guy, he at least tried. Managers dumb policies caused this. She shouldn't be more than a...
Read moreWent with a friend to find an item we couldn't find anywhere else. A good ( meaning well-made in terms of finished seams and matching dye lot) black suit! We had looked everywhere! And while in our 20's and 30's we could have shopped all day, at over 60 we were about worn out! Thank goodness for Dillards!
Being on the part of my journey where I'm giving away more than taking in, I had not been in Dillards in quite some time. But unlike its contemporaries ( Selbers, The Palace, Palais Royale, Krauss, Godcheaux's, Maison Blanche, Lewis's...and now even Penneys and Macys!)it has withstood the test of time.
The store is clean and well-organized, including dressing rooms and restrooms. A working escalator and elevator. Plenty of lighting. Beautiful merchandise. Beautifully displayed. Plenty of options. And customer service that is readily available without being imposing. Smiling. Helpful. A...
Read moreI've always loved shopping at Dillards. However, I recently went in to buy a dress and shoes for my daughter, and the lady that checked me out (as sweet as she was) said I had to go to another section to pay for the dress. Looked and looked for another person to check out the dress. Had to go to customer service to get them to ring up the dress so I could get out of the store. Just seems like an unnecessary headache....why can't you pay for everything at once? The girls shoes and dresses are right there beside each other. Makes me think twice before coming in again if I'm going to have to go through...
