Food Lion — Local services in Monroe

Oh really friendly and I really liked it I didn't have to ask for an hour to be opened up they were like six cards in the Short line and three people ahead of me with full buggies and only two cashiers and the manager opened up and said you can come over here but I'm used to them having manager special when we get our freezer meat oh my God but the one down in Monroe down in Monroe it is always got meats on sale the stuff is even different but that's okay it's still I just I didn't like it later all food's going to do it. And you know it's clean but I went in the bathroom and it wasn't just a couple hours left you could tell that nobody had managed it all day and it was nasty they was supposed to be somebody in her cleaning it with the door propped open nobody ever come out for 10 minutes and so I shut the door I wouldn't use the bathroom and come out nobody was still there but she had the door blocked while I moved the buggy I had to use the bathroom anyway other than that you know the overall cleanliness of the store was okay I would say it was 1 to 10 and I'm just not used to going in food Lion it being that nasty the bathroom but you know things happen short staffed on the weekends so anyway but I was kind of upset when I told a guy I said you know y'all don't even sanitize even though you don't have to and he said no we don't have the funds to do it we're not told to and because it just wastes our employees times and money lol anyway thank you...

If you’re anything like me, I certainly get tired of the big box stores. The Food Lion Shane is one you can depend on to have fair prices, with some exception, depending on the item. Carrying a decent stock of locally made products such as Neese’s sausage. This particular store is one of four that I frequent, getting three stars for being in last place in regards to cleanliness of store and friendliness of associates. Arrived at the store at 10:38pm. To be denied entry by an employee, and told that the store was closed. I sat in the parking lot for about 5 minutes to observe about 10 customers pull up park and walk to the door to be told that the store was closed. All of us arrived before the 11pm closing time. Many of us in East Monroe and Union county rely on the store to operate at its advertised hours. Extremely disappointing waste of time and cold trip...
