Don't buy the $10 protection plan or really anything you expect to warranty if it breaks. I went to this store the other day to warranty an impact socket extension I had, that broke. The socket was old and used, so the paint had faded a little. I went and got the exact kit the socket came out of like I always do when I break an exchangeable item. I get to the counter and the woman at the counter told me to hold on one moment, because she had to call a manager for some numbers. A manager shows up, a woman named Anita I believe, and proceeds to help the woman at the counter. The manager eventually gets done helping the girl. I even sign the receipt to exchange the item and then the manager says, "Oh wait, that's not the same socket". I was confused, but I just thought maybe I grabbed a slightly different kit or something. The manager goes to grab the "correct" socket and brings back the same socket, but in chrome. I told her that,"I definitely didn't buy a chrome socket, the black paint on that is just a little faded". I mean, there's an obvious difference between even a greasy chrome socket and a solid impact socket that is faded a little. She argued with me over the fact that, "the paint on the sockets doesn't fade". Just ridiculous. Eventually she just gave me the socket and began to be just plain rude. I got my socket, my receipt, and left. It had been a little while since I had gone to harbor freight, but the last time I had went there, there was a really nice guy running the place. I bought a reciprocating saw from harbor freight and it broke once. I had purchased the $10 insurance policy, but for some reason they couldn't find it in their computer. The old manager saw me in there buying stuff all of the time and knew he'd seen me buy one, so he waved it and just told them to give it to me. They gave it to me and then I bought another $10 policy on that reciprocating saw. After that whole socket ordeal I really dreaded when I had to go back and warranty exchange that very same reciprocating saw. I was worried that the insurance not showing up in their system would happen again and I would have to deal with the problem, but with this Anita woman again. Sure enough, that's what happened. Except this time she refused to exchange my item. I purchased a $10 policy on it and this store is refusing...

Read moreAlways well stocked and friendly staff. I bought an air tool at the one in Matthews a couple of months ago. Tried to use it for the first time today and it was defective. I tried to exchange it at this location for the exact same tool. I didn't have my receipt so that was my fault but the manager refused to exchange it. He stated that people buy their tools at the flea market all the time and try to return them. Not sure what that has to do with me as I was trying to do an exchange. I wasn't looking for my money back. Just trying to exchange the defective tool your company sold to me. It was still in the original box and very obviously had never been used. I understand a no receipt, no return policy but I felt this was a little stringent. They also couldn't look up any of my transactions done at other stores (I am in their system). I love this place but this was a little annoying. Stuck with a tool I never used and it...
