Food Lion — Local services in Monroe

This location is undergoing a complete remodel and it is going GREAT! There are more than plenty options here and you should, easily, find what you are looking for. The produce is really good and the deli is great! Staff are helpful and the layout is good. It could use some better organization but it appears that Food Lion is working on that. There has been an extremely noticeable improvement in atmosphere. It is way more pleasing. The best part is that they have introduced a nice number of self checkouts. I've been hesitant to praise businesses for adding self checkouts but in the case of this location of Food Lion it is greatly appreciated. The employees at the self checkouts are extremely helpful in making your checkout experience as smooth as possible. I use to love coming in this store to shop but not anymore. I rated the store a while back 5 stars and now its 1 star Beware!! There are 2 young employees girls that are working there now that are not friendly they will not either when I'm at the checkout line ready to checkout or need assistance for something they will not assist me they ignore me. One of the girls is a long blond hair girl and the other one is a Chinese girl that works there so if you have any issues with them let the managers know and one of the products i usually purchase there they had it in a 6pk or 2pk to buy but now they just have them in the 2pk and i usually purchase the 6pk and they had their wifi where you can view not only there website but the internet also but now its just to view their website. I went in today for a 6 pack of IPAs (this location always has a fair selection of both cold and warm craft beer). Upon arrival to the counter, I was greeted by a younger gentlemen, Jake, who politely rang up my beverages and also a pack of gum I had placed down. After a little small talk, I left the store with my goods. As I was getting in my car, I noticed Jake running out of the store and flagging me down with the pack of gum I had accidentally left after paying for!
