Grayford's Since 1931 — Local services in Montclair

This review is of the online experience I had with Grayford’s.

I ordered some difficult to find shirts but realized I had ordered the wrong size.

They were quick, responsive and incredibly friendly. What was most impressive was Rachel, the shop Manager texted me from her personal cell to help resolve the issue herself and shared information about the items I ordered.

As someone in customer service myself, I found myself incredibly impressed with the kindness and trust to text me from a personal number to resolve the issue without knowing who I was.

This kind of trust really restores my faith in humanity. Maybe a bit heavy handed but I think it a world increasingly more divided, this is the type of service that really brings a smile to my face.

You have to stop by this place if you’re interested in quality clothing or vintage. They have a mixture of vintage clothing and new ones made in the same ways how clothing was made back in the days. You can feel the quality of the clothing here. The owners are a pair of brother and sister, and can tell they are absolutely passionate about what they do. The brother Brad sponsors and enters denim competitions (they have true indigo denim and vintage Levi’s). The sister Rachel could tell you all about the stories behind each piece. You can try on as many as you like and Rachel will make you feel right at home.

They also have very beautiful potteries and vintage items from coops. The whole store is decorated with old items and it’s done so well. Clothing is on the pricier side but given the quality they can last...

It's rare for me to write a review, but I feel a strong need to say how fantastic this business is. The staff is knowledgable, welcoming, and engaging. They know their products, and the quality of garment they have is beyond anything you'll find at a department store.

If you are someone who appreciates craftsmanship, history, and quality-timeless fashion stop in and support them. The garment you'll buy here will (and some have) last you decades; and if you take that into consideration, the prices are beyond reasonable. Truly classic pieces that will never go...
