II have FSH MD Type 1 and was diagnosed at age 26. Throughout my life, I exercised continually to combat the effects of the disease, to reverse them for a while, and to delay the decline of my strength. I am now 72 and have participated in multiple clinical studies aimed at documenting the progress of FSH to hopefully prove that new drugs under development slow down or reverse the progress. I am too old to have access to these experimental drugs but not too old to keep exercising and finding new approaches to keep as fit as possible. Since sometime in my 50s, I essentially lost the ability to engage and even feel my abdominal muscles. As a result, sit ups but also push ups and pull ups have been essentially impossible to practice even with assistance. As I was doing physical therapy with Cathy Peterson at Well in Montclair, she suggested trying the EMSculpt NEO. It uses a combination of radio frequency heating and high-intensity electromagnetic technology (HIFEM+) to strengthen the core, reduce fat, and build muscle. We used it on my abdominal muscles during five sessions. The results were astounding to me. I started feeling my abs and was able to engage them actively. Almost six months after the last treatment, my abs are way stronger than they have been for the last 20 years. In addition, because I can engage them, I am able to work on pull ups and push ups and sit ups with some assistance and with some good results. It helps me a lot in my yoga practice as well. Because of my condition, my strength is still limited but the positive impact the treatment has had on my ability to continue to exercise and enjoy my exercise has been extraordinary. The best proof is that during my two last clinical study related doctor visits, I was able to do an assisted sit up which I had not been able to do before. For people who are willing to explore new approaches to improve their ability to exercise and simply to enjoy life, I recommend evaluating whether an EMsculpt NEO treatment may be a...
Read moreI care about looking natural and good, and so far my favorite treatments to achieve this goal after 40 are EmFace and Exion. I am a true believer in EmFace — I tried it in Turkey before. It lifts and is like a workout for your face, for the muscles that you can never get to work on your own. I did so much research before deciding where to go here in the United States and called nearly every provider offering these treatments (not kidding), and I finally found Well in Montclair. Cathy is amazing — she just has the best energy. You feel taken care of the second you walk in. The name “Well” makes so much sense — you really do feel well just being there.
Also, their prices are way better than what you'd pay at other places, according to my research. They have a package with Exion, which really helps with overall firmness, collagen, and glow. My Turkish esthetician recommended it, and I am sooo glad that Well in Montclair had a package for both. So I definitely recommend Exion as well.
I’m now lowkey obsessed and planning to try everything they offer (acupuncture,...
Read moreI have been going to Alicia for about a year and half now, and I could not have a more positive experience! I first started going to address some eczema issues that was also likely related stress AND to prepare my body for a baby! Well, several months later (I was going about every 2 weeks then moved to once per month), most of my eczema subsided. Then about 8 months later, I got pregnant! Then much of the focus turned to helping support pregnancy and balance. Alicia is warm, engaging, sooo knowledgeable about Accupuncture and Chinese medicine (I learned something at every appt!), super holistic in her approach, the list goes on. I hope she will continue to be part of my health and wellness team throughout my life journey! Oh and the facilities are beautiful and provide such a calming atmosphere. If you’re looking for Accupuncture, this is the place. If I could give 20...
