I visited this store and I notice the store is very clean, well lit, spacious and comfortable. But I also notice that their prices here at this store is outrageous! They charge 189 plus tax each for cockateils when I know I can pay anywhere from 89 to 125 bucks at other stores for these exact same birds. I remember paying a visit their once and asking about a dog for my mom and the salesman directed me to their section where they keep their dogs. Seeing most of the dogs either asleep or just not very interested, I didnt think anything much of it. But finally I found the perfect puppy, the guy got him out of his cage and allowed me to play with him and interact. And oh man was the dog full of joy and lots of love just as I wanted, but when I asked the clerk hey how much for the dog and him going to the back and coming back with a 4 thousand dollar plus price tag I was like for a puppy? Dude thats a down payment on a car at Capital Chevrolet! Did you know we have pet rescues and animal shelters? Not to meantion people who have their hands full with the ones they have at home. I was appalled so the clerk offered a finacing option Which they run your credit an attempt to qualify you for a loan(including interest rates) to buy the dog and you make monthly payments as if youre buying a car. I hated the entire ordeal. The no price tag on any of the dogs, the super high price of their birds, the 4 thousand dollar plus price tag on a puppy and not to meantion that get finacing/credit approval and monthly payments taken from your credit card for a pup like its a car.sad there isnt any other pet stores that sells dogs.if it were then maybe some of those prices would change with...
Read moreI went into the store to get a bird yesterday, and finally decided on a parakeet. Well, instead of being able to choose my own bird the lady insisted on just taking home the first one she caught. So ultimately I agreed. The one I went home with had managed to get out of the enclosure, and after a few try’s with catching the bird properly, she got frustrated and just squeezed the net at the top after scooping the bird up. I of course took the bird home. Even after being worried about the bird. And, when we were getting her in her cage after setting up, we saw that from the way the lady had handled catching her, she’d broken two of her primary flight feathers. I was offered to switch the bird out, which I declined, but personally I think if you’re going to work in a pet store, know how to properly handle the animals, especially something as tiny fragile as a bird. I don’t believe anything was done to or about how the girl handled my bird. But I believe something should have been done. She’s very stressed out at the moment. Not wanting to really move onto any of the perches and sticking to the bottom to the cage. And I’m sure that the broken feathers have to do with it.
I must add that for anyone who doesn’t know, that a bird snapping a feather like that? Is very painful for the bird. So now we are keeping a good eye on her. Just to make sure it doesn’t get infected. But it wouldn’t have been a problem if the feather snapping wasn’t a painful...
Read moreThis place is horrible. They’re so much worse than a dog shelter. At least at MHS they care for, bathe, feed, and fix their dogs. Our pup was absolutely miserable when we first got him. He is terrified of cages and although we were told he is fully potty trained that boy has never used a puppy pad in his life, absolutely refuses to, and loves to potty inside the house. The first time we met him his fur was INSANELY LONG and he was absolutely terrified to go back with the woman. We called every day for 3 days to be sure we could get the pup and to prepare for everything and when we got our puppy he was matted all over, reeked of pee, eye boogers stuck in his fur, and had LITERAL POOP stuck in his fur. once we took him home we had to practically shave him down with all the poop, mats, and eye boogers we had to remove. Before we met him we met with another dog who also had pee all over her and when we told an employee there she rolled her eyes at us and huffed as if we were the ones causing problems. If you choose to SAVE, not purchase a pet here be prepared to pay thousands of dollars for puppies in poor conditions. The food they give you when they buy them is also most likely not what they actually eat, they just give it to you so you’ll buy more expensive food from them. The vet we take our dog too even knows how poorly Pet Land treats their animals and agrees that they should be out of business for how they treat...
