Over the years this location became a bummer. The food never fails and is ALWAYS good, but the service is a different story. We normally order our meals for pick-up because the service is not worth sitting in. However, for the first time in several years we decided to sit and boy are we happy we did. Red Robin was once a restaurant that we’d dine when we want a laid back and fun atmosphere, but overtime service fell off. The food has ALWAYS been good, but service can/will make or break you. We were seated near the bar and Caleb (s/p) was our waiter. This guy has the personality of a bar tender (which he is), the attention span of an elite waiter (duties he performed), he listens, he’s interactive, he remembers, he has a great personality, and it is clear that he enjoys his job. Our order being accurate was a plus, which is consistent.
When ordering our drinks I made a joke about having introduced my husband to something and well over 30 minutes later Caleb referenced that joke and we laughed loud and long 😂😂😂😂. Why? Because we didn’t expect the comment and the reference was impressive because you can only reference what you pay attention to. This guy is awesome!
Red Robin, I recommend doing WHATEVER you’ve got to do to keep Caleb because he is the ONLY reason we’ll be dining in again and bringing friends. Also, the kitchen crew is the main reason why we continue to enjoy Red Robin, just not usually in house, but thanks to Caleb we will start dining in again and enjoying a few drinks, which were equally delicious.
In cases like this I’d recommend someone like Caleb being promoted and compensated to train new employees. His ability to increase return customers through service is difficult to find in the food industry. Customers are fickle and their overall experience is often based on service received. There were a two other waiters that brought food to our table, one being friendlier than the other, but no one compares to Caleb.
Caleb, thank you for an amazing lunch experience at Red Robin. We were uncertain about sitting in because service during our last dine-in visit was the best at being the worst. Because of you, we have added Red Robin back to our list dine-in spots. We just hope that everyone else around you can reach the bar that you’ve set. Thank you for an amazing lunch. You may feel like you didn’t do much, but we missed this Red Robin experience. Your service was nostalgic and we enjoyed every bit of it. You rock!
To the kitchen staff, thank you for always preparing our meals without fault. Whether dine-in or takeout you’re always 100% and it is your consistency that retained Red Robin’s spot on our list of places to eat from. The in-house service lost us years ago, but you kept us and we thank you. Keep grilling, keep frying, and keep...
Read moreThis was not my first visit to Red Robins. I am a Loyalty member and love the perks but the past two dine in experiences and call in orders were not so great. With both visits the wait time to be seated in a close to empty restaurant was unacceptable and the hostess was not polite along with the other staff just looking at us waiting for assistance. Our wait time for a waitress was as if she had to walk 10 miles to our table and 10 miles to the kitchen and drink fountain. She waited hand and foot on party tables for tips of course but we couldn't even get a refill after she passed our table three times without asking. So another waitress took a guess and asked if we needed our waitress and refilled our drink along with our appetizer getting comp because our entrees came out first and its funny cause it was free appitizer day. I could have gotten her attention but how your service is depends on your tip amount and for ever issue its a dollar deduction. The restaurant was humid and the booth next to the expo smelled like the mop head and mop water needed to be changed. The food looked edible but the fries got a little soggy sitting in the window and the burger bun disintegrated while eating. The chili cheese fries were Amazing! Both servers received up to two dollar tips for poor service. I dined in for my birthday and my waiter was the best, constant table check-ins and the gourmet burgers were delicious with the union rings. So I received a free Bday burger and called to place the order. The female who picked up was extremely rude and answered the phone with "yea" and I told her I had a question she responded with "What is it?" And "So what chu gonna order". Oh no, I called Red Robins in Eastchase Montgomery and a manager corrected the issue and I recieved my order that day. The food keeps me coming but the service needs work. After class one afternoon I placed an order online and it was conformed received. When I called to see if they took off for bogo Tavern day the lady explained my order never made it into her database and she place my order again over the phone. When I arrived and parked in the pick up parking spot, I called five times with no answer and had no choice but to go in. I chose carside pick up because in welding class my clothes got all burned with holes and I didnt want to go in looking like that. When I went in I gave them my name and they said I had duplicate orders. I explained the issue and they decided to let me have the extra burger on the house. I give them props for fixing issues but in other areas they need work. As for the food Delicious! One suggestion would be to work on the burger buns, they get soggy fast and...
Read moreJan 30, 2018 Tues night/8pm. After having to stand 10+ minutes alone at the hostess booth waiting to see anyone who worked there that could possibly just tell me to grab a menu & seat myself I finally saw a young girl wearing her winter coat walk up to desk & grab her purse to head out. TG! She felt guilty & only huffed & puffed a few times as she walked a few feet to bar area to wipe off a table & then seat me. (Why wipe a table when only 1 table actually is being used?) She left & as I sat ... NEXT to the only 3 folks in there (again why so close?) I heard every loud comment, joke, inappropriate or not. So as u can tell I'm hungry & frustrated! Waitress finally addressed me & asked my drink. No personality, suggestions or help. I was overwhelmed by the large menu as I'd only been here twice since they opened & 1 was a to-go order in the past few months. It was big & delicious. Unlike tonight's dinner. I had sub freckle fruit salad & added a cup of chicken tortilla soup with a bacon cheeseburger. When it finally came out all at the same time... I was taken back by the dinky, kids meal looking cheeseburger with 2 small pieces of bacon. Before eating I waited for waitress to come back around so I could inform her I must have gotten some child's burger. Even though the place was empty, mistakes happen. She then informed me THAT was the burger I ordered. 6oz... it looked just like a McDonald's kids burger ... more bun than burger. Asked if this was the $10+ burger... she then showed me the ticket that was $19.00+ Now I've been nice the ENTIRE time & not complained about the service, etc. But I calmly explained I could not justify paying that much money for such a burger and I'd just gotten a big burger a few weeks ago that was NOTHING like this tiny thing. She went & told the manager who came to my table & we discussed the problem I was having. He was very professional, kind & took care of my ticket... of the burger I never touched. He apologized & gave me a card for an appetizer & asked that I use it & come back and give them another try. So my appetite & dinner was ruined by this time & it was little after 9pm. I gave up on getting the hamburger I'd be craving for 2 days. Guess I'll ask before I ever order a $10-$19 burger meal exactly what am I going to get. So I can't...
