The worst experience I’ve had at a hospital…this place has most definitely a culture issue!! It seemed like everyone was miserable and in a terrible mood. I had to visit this place for some tests and my wife accompanied me, as my doctor instructed her to do so, just in case a procedure had to take place. Things went south as soon as I walked in the door. I was greeted by a very unpleasant woman at the front desk who yelled at me, and I’m not exaggerating when I say I was scolded about putting on a mask. Now mind you, I’ve never been here before, and was nervous about the tests, so this initial greeting was beyond inappropriate, and I thought I was to go to the registration area…makes sense right?!? Boy I was wrong, I walked over and I guess I interrupted a personal conversation between two employees, and then was scolded again about having to go back to the front desk. Couldn’t the mask Gestapo lady tell me that immediately after she had berated me, and stop me from walking over to the registration desk? Being kind and curious is a choice, and I would never employ such a person to be the representative or ambassador for my company…she was beyond rude. So I finally get called over to registration and the theme of miserable employees continues, the registration lady was so matter of fact, no smile, no pleasantries…nothing! She also was very irritated when I presented a question and appeared to only care that my insurance was valid and to complete the transaction as fast as possible. Now I wait, finally get called and again the lady performing the imaging or echocardiogram was rude, yelled at my wife that she couldn’t come back, and had the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. I did not feel treated like a human being whatsoever in this place, and I will never go back!! It’s funny too cause if you look at their reviews, whoever is responsible for replying uses some autogenerated response when there is negative feedback, so I’m curious why they even solicit people for reviews when they obviously do nothing with the feedback they receive. I didn’t not seek out posting this review, this is a result of their text messages asking for my feedback, which led me here. I’ll finish with this, my doctor told me that this hospital was going through some “reorganization” for the past few years, and he seemed optimistic about the future as this place had a troubled past. I’m sure he’ll be disappointed after hearing my story and this was for tests!!!! I wouldn’t have a procedure performed here if it were free and they paid me. Seriously, fix your culture, get rid of the cancerous employees, hire some people who can start making some raving fans of your...

Where do I start??? If I could give 0 stars, I would. I don't want to go into extreme depth with the fear of revealing personal information, but just know that this review has been under careful consideration and is honest and true. (I have pictures) With hopes that Corporate or the CEO sees this review seeking to reach out.
For one, not all medical personnel at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center (Emergency Department) show proper safety measures when dealing with patients. My mother needed to have an IV started for her CT scan (with contrast) and the person that came to start the IV did not wear gloves each time they stuck her with the needle. And this is not the first time that this has happened.* I don't understand how anyone could be okay with handling blood from a complete stranger and not think of the harmful risk that are involved. They also picked up the bloody gauze and bandages with their BARE hands! Who knows how many patients (before my mother) they have done that with. So, not only are you spreading harmful bacteria and blood pathogens from other patients with me, but you’re also sharing my blood pathogens to the other patients!! That’s how staph infections start and people die of becoming septic.
The rooms were ridiculously filthy and had containers that had another patients’ bodily fluids in them. The sink had foreign objects in the drain area and the faucet was filthy. The floor had so many objects from the last patient. So no, the floor wasn’t swept or mopped. I wouldn’t be surprised if the sheets weren’t clean. The equipment is extremely old and outdated.* The cords to the machine that records the blood pressure were not working. I mean come on, we're approaching 2023 and nothing has been upgraded?? Technology has advanced tremendously!! We honestly didn't even trust the readings of the equipment because of how old they were.
Who’s in charge? Who’s allowing this catastrophe to continue? Is this what leadership is allowing to happen when dealing with the lives of other people? Does the person in charge even perform random periodic inspections to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the building? Is the CEO fully aware of the people he appointed in these managerial positions to properly operate and manage the hospital the correct way? I’m going to end the review here, but just know that this just scratched the surface of the many problems experienced at Lake Norman Regional...
Read moreI would not recommend Lake Norman Hospital, especially if you’re a person of color.
I arrived at 9:30 a.m. with serious neurological symptoms after a car accident — facial swelling, numbness in my right hand, throat pain, eye pressure, and speech changes. I was advised by my primary care physician to get a CT scan and an MRI. Despite this, I waited over 5 hours without proper updates or urgency.
The staff was not rude, but they were completely unresponsive and inattentive. At one point, I felt forgotten in the room, and I noticed the hospital was overwhelmingly lacking in diversity — I was the only person of color I saw, including staff and patients. Whether intentional or not, I did not feel safe, respected, or welcome.
After requesting a CT scan and an MRI, RYAN HINES only did an MRI and then turned around and told me He’s referring me to the neurologist because I may need additional testing. The nurse handed me the paperwork and told me I am free to go. She never discussed anything with me about seeing a neurologist or the referral. I will not be going back here or to the people that they are referring me to. I had to use the bathroom and had to call them numerous times just to let the rail down so I could lift myself to the bathroom. On my way back, the doctor yelled out to everyone else. “I’m going to discharge her “ as if I was a problem or he was disgusted by my presence . When they are there to do a job.
I later checked the reviews and realized this is a pattern: long wait times, people being forgotten in rooms, and poor communication. I now understand it may not have been entirely racial — just a deeply broken system with terrible staffing and urgency. If anything, it appears to be a geriatric hospital full of senior citizens in distress.
Still, the experience left me feeling invisible, dismissed, and devalued as a patient — especially as a person of color in a facility that clearly lacks inclusion and accountability. If you’re in pain and looking for respectful, efficient care, this is not the...
