Sumo Shack — Restaurant in North Carolina

My wife and I greatly enjoyed the food here. My burger was delicious and they were not skimpy with the bacon. The fries were fried crispy on the outside and soft on the inside perfectly. In addition, the food was brought out steaming hot straight from the grill. My wife did say that she felt like her burger was a bit short on the kimchi, but she did enjoy it anyway, and said that it was delicious. The loaded fries were also very good, with a delicious creamy cheese and real bacon crumbles. The bacon also tasted better than the usual processed store-bought bacon, almost as though they had thinly sliced a bunch of samgyeopsal! I wonder if the owner is Korean, because they really understand flavor! I did enjoy a good Moscow Mule as well, which a lot of bartenders do not know how to make. While there, we were greeted with very friendly interactions from the lady at the front of house and the barkeep. The only drawback is that the place is a bit small, but that is not the fault of the owner. The food is worth taking the risk that there is enough seating available, and you can always eat on the patio in back. Definitely worth a try for a REALLY...

Wow!! My son had an appointment nearby and we saw this place, thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did.

The staff was very friendly and answered all questions with a smile, trust me we had lots of questions.

My son had the sumo burger, and a bacon dog. The burger was juicy, and HUGE! The spices and everything on it were a perfect fit. The bacon dog was good, but nothing special.

My wife had the Aloha burger, once again everything on this burger is a great blend. This burger does have an overwhelming sweet taste, but very delicious!

I had the 6" Lakeway Philly Ribeye. Perfectly cooked, very tasty.

At the last minute we decided to order the Sumo fries (spicy). Everything was amazing and tasted great, but these fries.... Simply amazing, my favorite thing.

The preparation of the food was very fast and oh so tasty! The restaurant and the restrooms were very clean.

Looking at the menu we wanted to try everything and will be back to try more, even though we live...

WOW!! Best burger EVER! I don't often get a burger as most places just don't do them well (overcooked, bland, etc) But when my wife ordered the Pimento Smash, I couldn't pass up on the description, so I passed on the Angry Chicken (I'll get that next time) and got the Pimento Smash. BEST BURGER EVER! The bun was perfect, the patty was perfect (Never had Wagyu, but I am now addicted), and the Pimento and Mayo had just the right spice. Don't customize. Just order as they have it listed...they know what they are doing! And their sweet potato fries were perfection as well. I couldn't have made my lunch today any better, with the exception of ordering another round (and maybe a third lol). This is our new go-to place, especially since it is close and away from the Hwy 150 disaster area. It will take a while to work my way...
